So for those of you that are approved...

How is it coming on the Packet 3 materials? Anybody running into any slow downs / bottlenecks? Anything proving to be particularly difficult that those of us waiting should start to look out for now?

So here is a question. Can we shorten the turn around time but mailing in the packet 3 documents as soon as we have the case number and the file has been received by the consulate? This assumes that we know any specific details that might come from this particular consulate.

My consulate allows that as mail routinely doesn't make it to the intended recipient in India. Dipu and I have already compiled everything for packet 3, he just has to sign and date the forms. As soon as we know the consulate has our case, we'll turn in Packet 3, pay the fee and turn in the checklist stating that we have everything so that they can schedule the interview. Once the interview is scheduled, we'll know when we can turn in the Packet 4 information.

hi all

i am very happy too... :) it seems that Vermont is working fast now, and Decembrists getting NOA2's now :))

i feel i will have mine this week ;)

guys ... does anyone here knows exactly what Vaccines are needed for AOS (I-485)??? i am 33 year old.

i have had from birth til now: tuberculosis, polio (several shots), DTP and DT (several shots), smallpox/variola (latin name), measles.

if i need more vaccines i can do them in my home country (they cost less and i have time here).

let me know :)

thanks

kd' ist:

You can check to see the Criteria for the Embassy's Civil Surgeons on our Thread Map! Page 23, Post # 341. You can find the Prep for Med Exam on Page 22, Posts # 316+329 (How come you don't know what's on our Thread Map? This is what you get for not visiting more often! LOL) :bonk::whistle:

Anyway, typical Embassy Required Exam includes but not limited to: Blood work, Xray, physical exam, and vaccinations. If you have your medical history / records from you private physician, you should bring those for this exam. All vaccines must meet a specific criteria listed by the US CDC (Center for Disease Control) and ACIP (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices); hence why I mention the Thread Map as this was posted back in the beginning of FEB 2011, so we all understood what our Bene's would need to do to prep for this exam vs. running around and trying to dig up Medical history's in their country. So your question was answered for you!!

Congratulations on your NOA2 and GOOD LUCK on the next step!!!

Mari

So close we can taste it! Congrats diana!

I'm so excited for the Decemberites! Yeah!!! Both centers working up a sweat now!!! LOL they must be in our Decemberite Fitness Challenge! LOL LOL LOL....

So for those of you that are approved...

How is it coming on the Packet 3 materials? Anybody running into any slow downs / bottlenecks? Anything proving to be particularly difficult that those of us waiting should start to look out for now?

I have called the NVC and they say that it's 2-4 weeks before they send your file to your Embassy. From that point, the Embassy will send you(Notice only) and your Bene' their packet #3 + Invite letter which they must bring with them to Interview (Make copies for souvenir! LOL )

Also, they send you the interview date with packet #3 (Ankara does anyway-- not sure about all other embassy protocol). They must have all documents sent to them. Be sure to check three times (3x for your sanity)--- of which must be original signatures and which can be copies. If copies, then your bene brings in the originals to interview.

FEES: Gov't assigned bank ; FEES MUST BE EXACT and KEEP RECEIPT FOR INTERVIEW as proof of payment (for Ankara, they want Fortis Bank --- so make sure you check with your Embassy of where they want you to pay, because each one has a system of how they want us to accomplish this). So if your Groom or Bride is hip on getting their packet required docs done before they get the list, good on you... (not like K and his "oh in 3 more mos!" ....piss me off..... really.. LOL  ... Where is my left slippah!)

So far, so good ... Petitioner: Use the time the that you're waiting for the NOA2 or wait time NVC still has your file, to copy your Tax Records (either Transcripts or Tax Filings), get the letter from your Employer and copy of your pay stubs. Don't forget to send original copy of I-134 form with it to your Bene. Make 2 extra copies of this... keep one and send one to bene for the just in case! Other than that, it should be smoothe sailing!

Yeahh, congrats!!! We're all getting closer

@mari: When I grow up I wanna be as organized as you!..lol

Ha! I roflmao when I read that Joan! omg if you saw me yesterday you would take that statement back! LOL LOL In fact, I was big time "Cheechin' & Spazzing out" trying to get my work done... so I went to get my eyebrows 'threaded" lol. I have to know how the lady is going to do my brows for our wedding day! lol lol!!

So here is a question. Can we shorten the turn around time but mailing in the packet 3 documents as soon as we have the case number and the file has been received by the consulate? This assumes that we know any specific details that might come from this particular consulate.

I called the NVC this morning on your question SammyD, and they told me that we need the Bar Code ID paper which they send us from Embassy with Packet #3 ( Identification purposes so our file doesn't get lost?).

This Bar Code paper gets sent back with our Bene's required documents prior to their interview. *I recommend you make a copies of this since it ID's our file. *

In case you have any questions regarding your Bene's Embassy, I am leaving you with fone #'s for NVC & the Main Visa Office which deals directly with each Embassy!

Here is the NVC: 603-334-0700

(press 1 for English, 5 for human to speak with you). They will ask you for Beneficiary's name and Date of Birth. Then ask same of Petitioner. They will confirm your phone # & email addy.

Here is the US Dept of State -- Main Visa Office in Washington DC: 202-663-1225

You call this one when NVC cannot answer your question only. They (NVC) typically will refer you to this one when they're unsure about your Embassy specifically & you cannot get a hold of your bene's embassy yourself.

Love to you all!

Mari

Yes we are getting closer Dizzy!! Despite being in the RFE "Dog House" I know it's getting close. I have been reading about the AOS including some posts at VJ and now I am confused about something??? I thought the requirements for the K-1 was to be married AND file the AOS within the 90 days of arrival? However, I read a post saying that the requirement is that you get married, the AOS can be filed after the 90 time period but as soon as possible?

So which is it??? Hay, since we are all in this for the long haul, I thought I would bring this question to the Decemberite family and get some factual information.

Yours Truly, Rex

Me :bonk: Mari smacking me for believing everything I read at VJ!!

I read a post that stated that technically you are supposed to file for AOS by day 90, however, this deadline is routinely waived as sometimes it can take a couple of months for the marriage license even to be filed so that you can get a copy. Most posts on VJ have stated that it is OK if you cannot file for AOS until after the 90 days.

LOL REX... no smacking u here... You get married within 90 days of POE. Then, you file AOS because you will need your marriage license for it.

Now, If you marry the day she gets here, then you can file your AOS as soon as your Marriage Certificate arrives--- say for example it gets her that same week. Hence you will be filing before your 90 day window expires. See? But let's say you get married on the 86th day of POE (only an example here for illustration purposes). Now you receive the Marriage License after the 90 days from your State / County... you still file AOS and it's now outside that window but it won't matter because, your only requirement for K1 is that you marry within 90 days of POE. Make sense?

OH yeah, and by the way... Good job on your efficiency for RFE Rexy!! Same to Danlor on that too!

Chin up and keep marching Rex! LOL

Mari

PS: What in the world is, "Hay"? LOL I thought that was for horses the way you wrote that...like you're going to feed us or something!!! "... Hay! since we're in this for the long haul" ...... omg... lol lol ..... Is this your recipe for the Decemberite Int'l Cookbook? LOL LOL :bonk: <<< NOW you get the hammer! LOL LOL

I'm so happy! My fiance just called NVC they just sent out our files to Manila Embassy today! They said to call back today late afternoon to find out our case number!!!!:dance::dance:

Today, I am stepping on your neck for your file going to Embassy first! Actually, I think it's excellent!!! You're going to be with your family soon Tita Ning Ning!!! Yippeee!!!!! Did you already go to that Flip Seminar that is required for Manila Embassy? I forgot the name but it's on this Thread somewhere... My neighbor just got here a month ago from PI. She said St. Lukes is strict about secondary testing for TB post X-ray reading. This means they will administer the applicant and do a Sputum test if they read possible active or inactive TB on film. It's normal protocol but she is still annoyed I guess. She came on a K1 Visa also, and said that Interview was simple after the medical is approved!

love,

Tita Mari
