Well, Gininda is back in Utah, after a week together here in England - a great week with gorgeous weather, but sad to be apart again.

The upside is, of course, that after the next flight we won't be apart again kicking.gif

She's printed out this year's pay stubs, her W-2, ordered her employer's letter of confirmation, etc for the I-134.

I'll be off to the nearest Snappy Snaps photo shop for some more US-style passport photies and then we should get the LDN case number soon, when I can arrange my medical up in London.

If I get enough notice, my brother has offered to come up to London with me and will wait outside with my phone etc - makes it easier than leaving it somewhere.

I already have 2 copies of my police certificate, 2 certified copies of my birth certificate (plus original), lots of proof of having met since NOA1 and other bits and pieces. Once Gininda's packet arrives, I should be good to go yes.gif

OK you are too organized today! LOL Congrats on getting those papers started and very close to finished!

Me on the other hand had to have one of our AmeriTurk friends who is fluent in Turkish speak with K's bro inlaw to "attempt" to get the update on his police report, since it is is only good for 6 mos (it's going to expire before his interview). Then, we gave him a list of what's needed for English translation. blah blah blah... difficult and challenging for me... AND I GAVE HIM K's number on base to see if he can't let him know he only has 2-4 wks before he has to come back to TR... my groom said, "Oh I have 3 MORE MOS HERE" ...omg... I almost burst a blood vessel! LOL LOL LOL NO LIE!!! In the meantime, I'm so working today on my 'desk job' stuff which time is rushing by me today.

Love to you all!

Sometimes, those of us that live in places like the UK don't realise how lucky we are to be in countries that have a high level of organisation - Turkey, along with probably lots of other countries, are a lot more, how shall I put this, 'relaxed' in their way of governmental working laughing.gif

Time to find your list again, Mari - make sure I have everything ready good.gif

As Snoop Dog would say, Tru Dat.

My poor Dipu ran all over town in hot hot weather, stood for hours on end in line and paid countless bribes every day last week and STIL doesn't have his hometown police clearance certificate so that he can get a passport clearance certificate. AHHHHH :bonk: I hope all those people who gladly took his money and then didn't help him get diarrhea.

We're still working on getting Em's birth certificate! lol.. you can only get an original birth certificate from the town where you are from in Mexico, which is 4 hours away from where we live. So we asked his mother, who lives in the town that he was born in, to bring one to us when she came to visit a few months ago.. but apparently she just went to the birth certificate office and they made a new one? Needless to say, EVERYTHING was wrong on the birth certificate, including his birth date (he was adopted by his grandparents so I guess his biological mother, the one we asked for the birth certificate doesn't know his birthday? lol) I'm wondering if there is an original on file or if they just kind of type of a new one as you stand there... I'm worried haha. We have 1 scanned copy of his original, but that's not good enough for the visa so we're going next weekend to try and get a correct original birth certificate so that we can get started on collecting the police records... I know they aren't required for Mexico but we would rather be safe than sorry... aye yay yay.

When you go to get a new birth certificate, maybe you should take the scanned copy with you so that they have all the information that they need to type. Also, apparently in some countries, there is a short form and a long form (why am I saying "some countries" like this isn't exactly what's got Donald Trump in a fit over Obama, lol) so make sure you get the long form!

GOOD LUCK...OFF FOR A COCKTAIL NOW!

omedetou gozaimasu!

おめでとうございます!

congratulations.gif

Shawn & Sonoko I'm very happy for you two! You never mentioned you had an interview date, Shawn! lol!! Very Excited and yes, this is very real... So, when's the wedding date now that you really can plan?

With Love, Mari & K

Thank you! I thought I had mentioned the interview date.. Maybe not because when she scheduled it, they gave her a date of a week later! I'm surprised how quickly things are moving after the NOA2!! And even more surprised that everything was in order, although I suspect in Naha we have a bit of an advantage because there is A LOT of US Military there in which the consulate serves and with me being military and was stationed there (provided proof!) it was an easy and quick decision with them once they found out she was healthy and not a criminal!

Our wedding ceremony will be October 1st in Albany, GA (we have friends there and my family is around that area). Of course that is beyond our 90 day window, so shortly after her arrival I think we might do a small Vegas wedding with some local friends around here so we can start working on the AOS and enjoy much more fun with the US Govt!

So how's K?? Has reality hit him yet that he needs to get back to Turkey or is your slippah scaring him away!?! I hope the process in Turkey goes smoothly for you as it did for Sonoko and I!!

Shawn, congratulations to you and Sonoko!! It looks like you guys will be our first 'success story'! That's wonderful news :)

I am leaving this afternoon to head to Atlanta to wait out the rest of the time for my NOA2 with my sweetie :)

Actually... I think I might be the 3rd. Neko (also Japanese filer) and militarygf (expidited case) I think beat everyone to the punch! Anyway, I'm hoping all are not too far behind me cause I want to start reading about the success stories and reunions!

So you will be in Atlanta until the NOA2 and then fly back to finish up the interview?? Sounds like it should be nice and get you use to your new future home!! Have a safe trip and see you on the other side!!

Progress on my RFE! The hardcopy arrived on Saturday, 2 days after the official update. As I expected, it said "The petitioner is advised to submit a copy of the front pages of passport showing name as well as pages of stamped entry to the Ukraine.(sic)" That, an a full page of "if"s, footnotes, and repeating the relevant guidelines, complete with all of the special cases that didn't apply to me.

I already had all of the pages of my passport scanned and ready to print, so it took next to no time to have the requested documentation ready to go, and I left it in the capable hands of the USPS today.

Cool, sounds like you are on top of it!!! We got an RFE on the 11th, waited and waited to receive the hard copy. On the 18th I sent the response (they wanted my divorce judgement) received a text stating the RFE response was under review on the 21st (I think) and now still waiting?? Just thought I would give you a detailed look at our time and the RFE. :hehe: Lee AKA: REX
