I don't have kids and if and when I ever do I certainly won't endanger their lives by dragging them on a perilous journey across the border and then having them pay the consequences of my idiotic actions, for rest of their lives, possibly.

And I'm from India, so spare me the 'poverty/better life' lecture. If it's all about the kids, then what about them poor kids from Ethiopia or Somalia? They're not special? They don't deserve a chance to live, study and better their lives in the US? No? Only Latin Americans just 'cause they happen to share a continguous border with the US? Effin' BS.

I don't even see the need for the DREAM Act, to be honest. Joining the military has always been avenue to US citizenship and if this is the only country and home that they've ever known, then they can surely sign up to protect it and earn their citizenship. The right way.

I would get on board with this Act if the requirement was that in order for a recipient to be eligible, he/she would have to turn in the people who sneaked them through the border over to ICE. Si, man.

Even kids can be criminals. If they knew they were here illegally and didn't report the crime then they have broken the law. At least they will only get a detention before they are deported. Guess we never hear about kids committing crimes huh? If they are illegally then that is a crime. I can possible see they may not know they are criminals and then when they come of age and find out and then they promptly leave the country and apply for citizenship that we may consider their application with many reservations.mad.gif

Lucky, the kids are not criminals and they haven't committed a crime. Your ignorant of the law and you're spreading misinformation in this forum.

For one thing if they committed a crime they would go to court and be charged with one.

Look at the good side of it, after all your more likely to get a Ponchos Mexican restaurant in your town  then a authentic Filipino restaurant.

Ponchos has steadily gone downward for many years, Very few left at all where I live. In fact I know of only one and went there a few months ago and realized their food pretty much sucks.

The Dream Act was an attempt at a backdoor Amnesty Act. Anyone who denies this is either uniformed or lying.

It's well known that the true age (under 30) and educational status (anyone could lie about being in school) of a "Dream Act" applicant could not be reference checked and verified by the US gummint, based on available man power of gummint workers for the sheer # of expected illegal immigrant applicants.

The Dream Act was a sham from the get go.

Backdoor Amnesty Act.

Word.

Realized that as a kid raising the flag for more food was the highlight of the experience.blink.gif

True, but have to agree the food was and is bad. Not the real enchilada

Sousk, so now you are speaking on behalf of the Mox??

Are you sure you are qualified??? :bonk:

We joined at roughly the same and talked often, though you might not be aware of this since you joined in 2009.

Perhaps some of his posts will speak for themselves. He was no fan of OT.

Took getting older and going to other restaurants to understand that Mexican food could be good and also going to actual Mexico many times and eating there. Just as a kid it was cool to raise a flag at a table and someone come and ask what more we wanted.blink.gif
