Since when did "gay" only apply to men?

Incidentally by justifying Prop 8, you are suggesting that majority rule should be paramount, even when it is promoting something that clearly disadvantages a minority group in a way that runs counter to (supposedly) what the US stands for. The fact is, it has become more socially acceptable to be prejudiced against gays than it is against racial minorities.

And yes - I fully expect that a slew of hyperbolic analogies will follow about dog fvckers and polyamorous types for this too. As you said, don't bother - it's not worth it.

If a "state" want to allow or disallow "gay marriage" that's their business. That's the beauty of the country we live in. Each state can make its own set of rules/laws, yet be united as one. That was the original purpose/intent anyway. Now days, everyone feels that everyone should be the same. Be it leftists or right wingers...

So presumably you'd be OK with Jews and blacks being fitted with GPS implants, you'd be OK with that so long as the majority decided that to be the case?

Freedom should be guaranteed for all, not by State. That was one of the things that was effed up about slavery in US - legal in one state, illegal in another. How can anyone justify such a thing?

individual rights are a completely different thing entirely. Slavery was absurd in nature because you had no freedom to decide to be a "slave" to someone or not.

Marriage is a 'state' issue and always has been. It's a contract between two people with the state they live in. It's not a federal issue.

We have a constitution that gives us the limitations of the Federal Government and leaves any and all other laws up to the individual states via the 10th amendment, so long as they don't violate the constitution itself.

As a citizen of the United States, if one state has laws that you feel are unfitting for the life style that you choose, then you have the ability to move to another state without prejudice.

Aww, it's cute how you think we don't have corruption, genocide and poverty already. And how you equate those atrocities with civil rights. And by cute I mean psychotic.

Corruption, sure, but not in the military. Genocide? Name one instance. Poverty? Show me one poor person who doesn't have the opportunity to raise themself out of their situation.

At least one person here understands how it's supposed to work.

Are you saying DADT is freedom?

Please explain to me how repealing a military policy amounts to freedom.

individual rights are a completely different thing entirely.

And are largely waived upon entering into a term of service. The UCMJ clearly spells out which rights are retained/forbidden. You can't join the military and retain all of your rights. When folks VOLUNTEER to join the military they're basically saying, "I agree to do what I'm told to do for XXXXX years."

More hot steamy man on man sex in foxholes! :ot2:

You'll have to join the military for that.
