Wow. F*cking wow. There's definitely a sickness in the house; you ain't wrong.

####### was I thinking ? I forgot...it's 2010 and in this day and age it's ok for one man to put another man's ####### in his mouth. Yep nothing like raising a family these days. Can't wait till my son ask me; "daddy, why are those two men in uniform sticking their tongues down each others throats?" Next will be "Child Molesters should be allowed to serve"....

Screw that. Iv'e had enough with the liberal metro/** sexual agenda these days. It's gone way too far. Let some place like California succeed from the US and they can make it ** heaven while still trying to balance their budget.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

being allowed to serve in the military is NOT a "civil rights" issue.

You have NO RIGHT to serve in the military. It's a want/desire.

Once upon a time you had to have either a diploma or a GED to serve. Then you had the age restrictions unless you opted for the college program and had your parents sign off for you. Then there was the "serve and you won't have to do your time in prison" thing going on. It's changed over and over...age restrictions, etc...

I'm curios about the "want/desire" when it comes to registering for Selective Service.

[T]he Military Times Newspapers revealed that ten percent of the survey population stated that if the ban on open homosexuality is lifted, they will not continue in service at the end of their terms of enlistment. Another 14 percent indicated they would consider not reenlisting. These are dramatic statements of attitudes by those in uniform that must not to be ignored....

10+14%=24%. That means 76% will stay enlisted and/or re-enlist. Your point? (Besides that you hate gay people?)

So you think civil rights are a matter of public opinion? Maybe we should vote to take away the right of homophobes, then! All in favor?

Civil rights are not a matter of popular opinion. If they were, the Democrats may still be withholding voting rights from Blacks.

The answer to all your questions above is..."Mixed results means the same it does now" The Gay doctor that is in the operating room now will do the same job tomorrow that he did today. The doctor that did my bypass surgery is...well, he might be gay. What if he is? Who cares?

-You are right civil Rights are not up for an opinion poll but there is no Civil right to be in the military or short men would not be barred, even though they are taller than many woman who serve nor would the tens of millions of people who have one handicap or another.

- The question was about the effects on the "their military unit" and up to 70% said it would be mixed. It's not about individual performances as you suggested.

People who use drugs.

I will except your minor correction (without even checking)

You may know that smoking pot is grouped in with drug use in the military and most other non-technical applications.

Still,

It's a big leap from "use drugs" to "addict".

I have some frontline sources that tell me they have some good stuff in Afgan. some of those users have no doubt died with distinction over there.

well, the argument does 'fit' somewhat as most child molestors are men going after little boys than little girls.... *shrugs* It is absurd to equate the two as one in the same though.

Repeal prop 8 though and set an example? Where courts rule more than the people? Stalin and Hitler would be proud.

You're right, gay people do raise families. A study recently came out also that showed gay parents seem to breed gay children more often.... That can't be healthy for society either...

Don't get me wrong. I play devils advocate on this issue. I don't care what the hell people do and I think DADT is about as stupid as the repeal of it is. i/e - it's IRRELEVENT... The military like anything else is your JOB. I don't care if your straight, gay, animal lover, etc... your sexuality is completely not relevent to the position you're in.
