Our case has just completed yesterday. I spoke this guy from the NVC and told me that January interview is already full. So, I am wondering if I can just call the embassy to make some arrangement and beg them to give me a January interview date? Will that be possible? If yes, how? Thanks!

No !

They will send your the necessary paperwork with a interview date in the next few weeks

more than likely after the holidays. Once NVC sends your file and paperwork to the Embassy

they will notify you of everything you need to do next.

Congrats on your approval, still the last big step passing the interview and paperwork.

You should get your interview date for the next 45 to 120 days if they are not back up

at the US Embassy

Good Luck.

Happy Holidays

Oh unfortunately they will only listen if you file an expedite request and they think your case is urgent enough but why didnt you do DCF if your husband lived there last year? Anyway, you are almost there!

The time line for the next part after the NVC is 2 to 4 months.

Thay have to send out your 2 Packets and than they will schedule your interview

at that time. IT will take a few weeks before the US Embassy will obtain your paperwork

and send out the packets and interview date. Your looking at like mid January for your

paperwork tio arrive at the Embassy than packets 3 & 4 and than your interview date

which wont be right a away.

They give your wife time to make the packets 3 & 4 done and get her medical stuff and

police reports obtained.

Maybe by March or April unless your US Embassy dont have any cases pending or back logged.

Oh, I didn't know that it would be a case. It seems that everyone who DCFs in Korea usually goes thru with the process less than 2 months. Sorry about that. I hope that your rest of the journey will be smooth and quick!

Well unless you know something I dont know..

I dont see it happening as soon as you think.

Who gave you thins information your getting your

interview in February ?? you still hav to process

You still have the much paperwork to do for the Wife.

Packets 3 & 4 to fillout and do the medical and submitt

police reports ECT. it a 3 to 5 month after apporvals

to get this done and a interview setup I cant imagine

you getting it until March to May.

GOod Luck but dont count on anything as soon as you think

I hate to burst yur bubble.. But the government just took

4 to 6 months about you. What makes you thinnk they will

do her paperwork faster, they have alot more to check

and do research about her, police reportrs and all the

packet 3 & 4 to check out plus I know of no US Embassy thats

not back logged with other cases before you.

Good Luck but like i said dont be surprise if you dont get one

in February such interview. If you check out consults time frame

it take some time longer after NVC than your approval did.

Ask your US EMbassy no the NVC they have no idea what the back log

is only the US Embassy knows this.

Be patient you wont have no interview in February that soon.

unless a senator hand carried it themself, and I'm sure thats not

happening. Be patient and just remember the whole process take 7

to 12 months and you only half way done.... maybe..

:):):)

DCF is DIRECT CONSULAT FILING at the US Embassy.. but again you have

to be living in that country 2 years before and you have to prove it

to the US Embassy, and not all US Embassy do DCF.

Good Luck ! ! !

I think that you are mistaken on that part.

The OP is filing for CR-1 & it going through the US Embassy in Manila.

There is nothing left for the OP to do except the Medical, CFO & plane ticket - these have nothing to do with scheduling the interview.

The OP's case is complete, there is NO more paperwork that he/she have to submit......unless it is requested. The Police report HAVE already been submitted at the NVC stage.

Having to take the medical have NOTHING to do with they scheduling an interview - they are both independent of each other BUT the medical MUST be completed before the beneficiary takes the interview.

For the US Embassy Manila, the medical is good for 6 months - so the beneficiary can/could have even taken the medical before their case is complete - however, they do need their NOA2 & case number.

NVC schedules the interview based on the Consulate interview slot - the Manila Embassy may or may not be filled for January but February have not been scheduled yet, so very likely the OP will get a February Interview (may even get a late January interview - I have not seen that many people with late January interview for the Manila Embassy). As far as I can tell the US Embassy Manila is not backup........... yet.

OP, your case was JUST completed 2 days ago, plus it is the weekend, I would say give it a little time, there are people ahead of you who they need to schedule an interview for first. I would give it a a few more days - you may get your interview date within a week or two.

If you did talk to the operator at NVC, he will tell you ANYTHING. He is NOT the one doing the scheduling of the interviews. If you need more info on the scheduling - you have to talk to a tier 2 person.

So in the mean time, do the medical & take the CFO seminar.

Call NVC mid-week this week and inquire about any possible interview date. Chances are very slim it will be in January. Toward the end of the 2nd week of January start calling NVC again regarding interview date. NVC generally starts scheduling then, sometimes sooner, but usally completed by the middle of the month for the next's months interview dates. I think Manilla has been fairly quick with interviews so I think February isn't out of the question. In the meantime start getting your medicals and other items done, checking all your documents, gathering evidence, etc. Plenty to keep the mind and hands occupied.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
