I called DOS this morning and was talking to a very nice lady but not very helpful....I did find out that Packet 3 was sent to me on Dec 1....Well I have not received it yet and it is Dec 17th. She told me that I could find it online and fill it out that way??? She also told me to email Montreal which I did and got the automated response that they do not answer questions about interviews/ information sent to and from the embassy. Soooooo...I went ahead and found a site that has all the info on the packet 3. The forms and where to go and what to do. My question is....Should I go ahead and fill out the forms? I know the DS-160 is done electronically. How do I send the checklist and the DS-230? I would really like to get the ball rolling. Any advise would be much appreciated.

We ran into a similar situation...Packet 3 got lost in the mail enroute from Montreal initially. It can be frustrating!! Email seems to be the only way to get ahold of Montreal (make sure to put your case number in the subject line of the email), but it could take them a week or two to respond to your email, so a good idea to email them ASAP.

I don't think you can schedule a medical without having Packet 3 first, but it's a good idea to have the content all ready for the various forms. I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to submit anything online without actually receiving Packet 3. Montreal seems to be changing their system (and the forms required), so it could make things complicated if you submit forms online before receiving actual instructions (it could have changed from what you found on the web).

While waiting for your actual Packet 3, prepare all your documents and content for the forms, so you can send it back right away. Once Montreal receives Packet 3, Packet 4 shouldn't take too long, and then you can schedule an interview.

Another thing to do in the meantime is to make sure you have all the other documents you need ready. Regardless, the longest wait may be the timing of the interview.

Good luck!

We printed packet 3 online. Filled out DS-156 online & DS-156k. Then faxed the checklist & DS-230 form. It says the Medical Appointment must be made on the checklist. We emailed the Working Medical Clinic & asked for a date. They emailed back right away with a date. Shortly after we faxed our form & checklist we got an email with an interview date. We are going through Vancouver. Everything for packet 3 (which is a 1 page letter) was explained online. I hope this helps! Good Luck!!
