NVC grants expedite.Fwd case to Manila Consulate

hello once again. NVC has granted our request for expedite. I was informed that our case will be transferred to the US Embassy in Manila. I had already paid the AOS fee online. Since they are mailing my case to the Consulate in Manila the agent i talked to from NVC said I should not send anymore documents to them since they will no longer be processing it. All questions should be directed to the Consulate. She said that the Consulate will be mailing the Packet to my husband with the instructions on what comes next. So as I understand, the AOS packet from me and the IV packet along with the interview packet, my husband will have to take it to the interview? or does my husband send the AOS packet and IV packet to the consulate instead..

i am also planning on going to the Philippines to accompany him to the interview. what do u guys think. Rating my husband's proficiency in english (1 bad- 10 great) i'd give him a score of 5. he understands english. but depending on its complexity, he sometimes cannot compose a CORRECT sentence using the right grammar. i'm just scared that he might say something that would end our case to a visa denial

Thats good news for you. And a relief Im sure.

Whatever hasnt been completed at the NVC, will be done by the Immigrant Visa Unit at your embassy. In my case, the NVC stuff was done in about 10 mins at the embassy right in front of me. Thats the AOS and IV. The only wanted my sponsors last 1 year of tax return in the end, but they request 3 to be on the safe side Im sure.

So if any monies are to be paid, you just pay them at the embassy. just think of it as continuing the nvc procedure at the embassy. Its no problem at all, simple and straight forward. You should be assigned an interview date very soon, Id imagine it could be just after Christmas.

Have you guys got the medical completed? If not, Id get that done asap if you can, if you have, you're all set and shouldnt face any issues with the rest of the process.

Just have it in mind that you've expedited, and of course its none of my business regarding your details, Im just erring on the side of caution. if you accompany your husband for the interview - and you'd expedtied for your ill health and financial issues- again, Im just guessing here, but the Consular Officer may question your health now and how you could afford to be there.

Again, Ive no idea of your circumstances, it may be something thats raised, it may not. I am more putting something out there for you to bear in mind, thats all.

If none of it applies to you - just let the embassy know you're attending with your husband when he gets his interview date.

They may send your husband an email and a letter which is a checklist. he should be able to email the embassy saying he has all of his documents (its called a ds2001), and also his ds230. They can be emailed.

Then you take all originals to the embassy - as you are in fact an nvc sub office at your consulate.

RichiJenny, thank u very much for your advice. when u said everything will be done at the consulate and to bring the original documents needed, u are referring to the Interview date correct? just clearing things up ... my husband hasn't gotten a physical yet. i'll tell him to do it SOON..i hope you're right about getting an interview date soon. just knowing an interview date is set makes me feel A LOT better...... My reason for expedite was more of a emergent situation than a financial hardship. I never supplied supporting evidence based on my financial situation. My aunt enlisted in the US Army and she leaves behind her 7 yr old daughter for me to take care of while she is away. i sent in her enlistment contract and my little cousin's school registration. I just said that if my husband was here, he would help me look over my cousin and at the same time he can also work to provide for our family.

My mom, has been working for United Airline for 19 years. I still have the privilege to fly with United for free. and at times we just pay 10-20% of the ticket price. Should i provide proof that she works for United just in case the person that interviews us asks me how i can afford to fly to the Philippines? last time i flew to the Phil it only cost me $300 round trip. my husband's discounted ticket would probably be around 600$. Manila to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to LAX. it would be my husband's first flight internationally and i would like to accompany him. im afraid he'll get lost if he flew alone haha so both our ticket would approx be 900-1000$ thats pretty good knowing it's for the 2 of us. if i let him fly non-stop from Manila to LAX it would cost us more. $1,300 PLUS the hassle and worries if he's OK or not.. can u tell, i spoil my husband hehe.

One last thing, i read on other threads that if u expedite with NVC u'll have to request for another expedite with the Consulate? i'm a little confused by it because when I requested for expedite with NVC, they told me that they had forwarded the request to the Consulate and it was up to the consulate if it will be granted or not. if anyone can clear this up for me i'd greatly appreciate it

As you didnt request an expedite for reasons that would affect you personally / directly, you'll be fine. It affected a direct family member - so there will be no questions asked about that at the interview Im quite sure.

yes get the medical done, cos the visa cannot be approved, without the medical results.

the nvc process at the embassy should be swift as youve done half of yours. the interviews vary in timescale. just make sure your husband gets his medical done. good luck, youre almost there!

That was just the 'NVC' part at the Embassy, the interview followed - that seemed to go on for quite a bit longer!

i have the expedite request approved August 22, how long it will take to sand the case to the embassy. I did all the paper work at NVC
