We filed September 3rd, had our Biometrics on time on 10/19 and based on previous approval history I was expecting this whole thing to be done by December 3rd, it hasn't. I check my status twice daily, nothing but what really ticks me off is that I just checked an October filer at the CSC who filed 10/22 and is now approved, why? I sent a packet 3" thick of evidence, why is it taking so long? any ideas? just venting the pressure...

sorry that your wait is taking a long time, it is ok to vent here we have all gone through a venting phase. The only idea I may have is that it slows down this time of year and they are currently running up to if not past the 5month mark. Why others who filed after you get approval I cant seem to figure that one out for the life of me. Hang in there your time is coming

i think that applicant you're talking about is frome the Removal of Conditions (ROC)forum. if your profile is correct, you'r applying for K1 not ROC. in any case, you're right that average processing time for K1s in 3months, but this depends on a lot of things such as the bulk of applications in your batch, where your service center is (some are busier than others) and your application itself (as you know although more documents better your chances of getting approved, it's not the sole basis)

so even though worry is just natural don't worry to much, give another month and if you're a 100% sure your application was organized, accurate, complete and correct, you will definitely be approved.

also go to "K1 forums" so you can communicate with other applicants in your batch.

From the OPs timeline they are filing ROC. They did their K-1 in 2007.

I wouldnt follow timelines on VJ or estimates on VJ really because it seems to change all the time.

It's because your packet was 3" thick. Just kidding...please be patient. You'll just make yourself more frustrated if you continually look at how many applicants who filed around the same time as you have been approved. There really is no rhyme or reason to things. The months Nov. and Dec. have some holidays in them and traditionally the flow of work slows down during this time. Hopefully you'll hear something shortly.

Thanks, your case is then even worse than mine..so I'll take the "chill pill" advice, again looking at someone who filed 10/22 and is approved when I filed 09/03 is unnerving to say the least.

hello, your timeline is normal.you had your biometrics 10/19....your file was 3 inch thick thats more adjudicating to be done,now it's chrismas time the mail is backed up,..i sent my 1-751 in aug got approval in dec 3, so i think yours is very near, if it was not held up by the fbi check, i belive by the end of xmas or first two weeks in jan 2011 hope you should get your approval,...doe's that relive some pressure,, good luck.

I don't know why USCIS doesn't approve in order of application, but you are not alone at least!

My application took a little over 6 months to be approved and I sent in a TON of evidence and didn't have any RFEs or an interview. These things just take time. Your status is safe as you have your extension letter. Relax and enjoy the Holiday season.
