When the immigrant that you sponsor attempts to naturalize they will learn that the Constitution of the United States protects all people living on United States territory. Documented, undocumented, greencard holder, etc. Perhaps you missed 6th grade history??

Again, you are wrong, which doesn't surprise me. Go actually READ the constitution. It states the CITIZENS of this country.

Clearly you are speaking before you engage your brain.

But it's obvious how you feel as your fiancee is from Haiti. Biased opinion from the get go.

Last time I checked illegals DONT pay taxes. WRONG

Plenty of those whom you are referring to as illegals have and does pay income taxes. Everytime you purchase something out of a store that is taxable you pay taxes.

Umm... last time I checked Haiti was an independent nation. What US Territory are you talking about? That's 4th Grade Geography! :bonk::lol:

You are still wrong, the Constitution protects all people who resides on America soil. The law doesn't separate legal VS ILLEGAL. :whistle::whistle:

The Constitution protects the Citizens of the United States of America! The last time I checked an illegal alien had not taken an Oath of Allegiance to said Constitution!

I will grant you that the "USCIS may grant TPS to eligible nationals of certain countries (or parts of countries), who are already in the United States"... because they cannot return safely to their own country. :thumbs:

i just wanna know why the reason behind the USCIS backlog matters?does it make the wait more pleasant?does it make you feel better to know why your case is not a priority to CSC or VSC?

i know waiting is hard,i was the bitchiest member during the wait for my own case,and i still am,but i think its getting ridiculously out of hand how people are throwing Haitian TPS numbers around.

its not like Haitians chose to be the priority rather than you or i.if there is anyone to blame,its USCIS,and unless youre going to do something about it,quit thinking about it,it doesnt make the wait any easier,i can assure you that

I agree with TheLastPetitioner. In the end, all this arguing and bickering isn't going to make this process any faster. Unfortunately it is what it is. For now, TPS applicants should be getting quicker responses while I-129F/I-130 bases petitions will have to wait. JoyDee, I see that you filed your petition in November. The TPS thing is only going to make you wait another 4-5 months so if you are comfortable with that, more power to you :)

As far as the Constitution issue that was brought up. This one really baffles me. JoyDee, when I read your interpretation about the Constitution I had to step away and just go outside my house for a few minutes and just shake my head in disappointment. I just have to say this: Come on man!!!! Are you kidding me???

Okay. Let me quote a few lines from the Constitution:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

I bolded the word "People" in order to draw attention to the next quote from Article I, Section 2 from the Constitution:

"The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature."

Who elects members into the House of Representatives? The "People" do. Last time I checked, only US Citizens are allowed to vote in Congressional/Presidential elections. In other words "People" = US Citizens.....

Listen guys, I don't want to get off topic here.

As far as the TPS thing goes, you can either chose to wait (preferred but the toughest method) or you can complain (not preferred but can produce results as happened in my case). I know this is hard. My fiance's interview is tomorrow and I am nervous :(

Be strong and show the USCIS you have nerves of steel. Good luck everybody :)

Honey, I'm the one shaking my head at you. I'm glad you got out of the house. Maybe it'll help get you some perspective. When the Constitution was written most of the people residing in the United States were not "citizens." This was a document to govern all the people in the land, not just the citizens.

I don't like you. You lecture everyone, yet you request your package be expedited? I say get in the line like the rest of us. I may have to deploy in a year, and every month USCIS delays-that's another month she doesn't get a chance to learn the language, integrate, etc. when I might be gone for 6+ months.

Polish troops are fighting, supporting us, and they won't even let her(many Polish) come visit me (denied tourist visa every time). You bet I'm bitter.
