Hey Rosey!

thanks for your info. I called the USCIS the other day, as i havent had an update since Jan 14th, and it was still in initial review. she told me that they were processing Oct 8th people, so the applications recieved on that day. i asked her how long it took for them do say, do one day, and he actually said depending on how quick they want to work that day!- haha.. she was not saying that being mean or anything, but she was truthful!

but if it takes 4 months, them im just about there! they recieved my application Dec 29th, can you remind me when you applired yours?

Jen, yes, there is a receipt number for the I-601. If you do not get one after 30 days call USCIS Tier 2 and ask for it. That's what I had to do. This way you can log on to uscis.gov and check progress through the big dots....LOL.... THEN, you can set up an account to get a touch.. Please don't hold your breath waiting for a 601 touch, see hubby..... I have been waiting 8 months for this 601 and perhaps Santa will put it under my tree..... As you can see I'm losing it...

Do not trust the USCIS website and the big dots. I did the same mistake.I checked it for 2 years for my I-539 and till today it still shows "initial review". When I called them I found out that was denied almost 2 years ago and never got the denial letter trough mail. CALL THEM.

I agree as well. The embassy in Barbados sent out my hubby's I-601 to USCIS Santo Domingo on Feb 28 and they got it March 28. I only found this out by calling USCIS Santo Domingo directly. Up to now I have not received a reception letter of any kind, but the attendant i spoke to said to call back in two weeks.

It's better to call and speak with someone who is actually looking at your case.
