You should be worried. Clearly if VJ is anything to go by, most Amnerican's do believe that terrorists are just on the wrong end of the sliding scale of evil that is the muslim religion. No good muslims except dead muslims would be a good motto.

I'm not worried. America isn't the world and my view is far wider than the self-absorbed types whose beliefs are manipulated daily by trendy news articles and opinion blogs. They seem to have little concept of Muslims, Islam or the depth of who, what or even where we are. They're like a toothless dog barking at shadows.

Years ago, Ted Koppel said about the media, "We may not tell you what to think, but we tell you what to think about." I never forgot that, and, now, I would say that media does tell those incapable of critical thinking what to think. They are not the best among us. They don't scare me much. I've seen a lot worse.

Just as you think that we think every Muslim is a terrorist. Your thinking that "we" are stereotyping is also stereotyping us.

I personally believe that the number of Americans that believe Muslims = Terrorists is about the same number (percentage-wise) of Muslims who actually are terrorists. It is very small and very insignificant but just enough to cause a stir.

I agree with you. It's up to non-Muslims to decide how much of a stir they will cause.

Seriously! You think that America is toothless! I hope you are the exception in your views because I don't think that dismissing the potential for military conflagration over religiously motivated terrorism and retaliation for same is wise. Mind you, I definitely do not advocate for this. But there is a large group of people in this country as well as some in European countries that do not seem reluctant to advocate for the use of any force at their disposal to 'solve' the problem! These people have demonstrated considerable political influence in recent elections.

I tend to agree with you but I think that there is a much larger group that isn't sure what to believe right now. Another large terrorist attack could galvanize them into demanding severe retaliation. I hope I am wrong!

You missread. The poster stated that those who believe what they are told rather than employing critical thinking are as toothless dogs yapping at the wind.

What a jolly little fear monger you are. Tell me, who do you think 'we' should retaliate against exactly? If we knew where the terrorists were hiding, I'd lay odds we would already be acting to eliminate them ;)

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

To a naive non-Muslim, his sentiment makes sense. To knowledgable Muslims, not much.

If there were more than just one knowledgeable Muslim in the world...
