How long ago was his medical? If it was more than 1 year, he will need to complete a new full medical, not just the immunization section.

Double check all your paperwork for a DS-3025, which in my case was stapled to the medical payment receipt. This has all the immunization history gathered by the Panel Physician and states whether it is complete or incomplete.

If not, does he have any copies of his medical notes from home that show the history.

Failing that, he'll need to get another series of shots to meet requirements or the Civil Surgeon cannot complete the I-693.

On a side note, please take the time to complete your time line. It really helps everyone answering your questions (for example, I looked to see how long ago his interview was) and also provides an idea to applicants following you what the experience is like for your embassy/ field office.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017

USCIS should have the medical records, they were in the brown envelope that was turned in at the POE.

HOWEVER you will need to get vaccinations records done on an I-693. if vaccinated overseas, and have a record of this take this record to a US Civil Surgeon and get them transferred to the I-693, if not vaccinated then contact your family doc and get vaccinated for or tested for immunity to:

  • MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids

Be aware many US civil surgeons try to hit you for a FULL medical, if you run into one, seek out another.

Well i came to the Country with my document that i had my shots but and i guess by mistake it was left at my POE, i didnt ask for my document back and they didnt give it back... simple mistake. I did the medical again, had my shots again with a doctor on the list of USCIS and thats it... is more money but i prefer to pay than get back a RFE.
