USCIS money order... Possible misspelling

So my fiance just went to the post office to submit the I-129F package and he thinks that in the rush (post office was about to close), he might have misspelled a word, instead of writing: Department of Homeland Security, he wrote: Deparment of Homeland Security, leaving out the first "t" on Department...

Will this cause a problem?

I honestly doubt that they would return the packet because of the one letter missing in the check... But if they do, they would return the packet quite quickly so the mistake would not cost you too much time.

I wouldn't worry. Although, it wasn't DHS, but the Treasury Department last year they had absolutely no problem cashing my check when I misspelled Department of Tresaury (como ese). Although, everytime I write out a check to the gov't, I always want to put the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and not the actually department

I highly doubt a misspelling on a M.O. will be a problem.
