Co-sponor/affidavit question.

I am new to the forums and new to starting my visa journey with my husband. I am pretty clear and almost feel confident about most things I have researched so far, except for the co-sponser concept.

No matter how much I read, I'm still confused about a few things.

I won't have three past year tax returns by the time I begin the filing proccess for my husband, therefore I plan to use my mother as a co-sponsor. Must my co-sponser have a bank account/bank statement and assets (such as a house and car) or just be able to reach the minimum income required? And since I won't have any tax returns, but I do have a job, would that cause a negative effect on my case?

Thanks for the help.

Read some more and you'll find out that you do NOT submit any financial related forms or evidence with the petition. It will be months later. Read the instructions for the I-864 and the form itself and you'll see three tax returns are not required later either.

Read a little more and you'll find out the K3 visa is obsolete/dead. Think "CR1 visa".

What is a CRV visa? I also see a lot of post discussing a "dead" or "dead end" visa . . . What does that mean?

CR1 is the currently available spouse visa if you've been married less than two years.

The K3 visa is no longer available. That's what we mean by "dead" or "dead end".

Only the most recent tax return information is required... you can submit 2009/2010 (if that is when you'll complete the I-864) if you want but will be optional.

K-3 and no longer used

Replaced by a CR-1 Visa.

If you want to know what a CR-1 Visa is

Dead K-3 means they no longer do them. so dont file and try doing them

If you do it will only delay your case and and slow down the process

anyway than it will just be become a CR-1 anyway.

A real waste of time.

I-864 co sponsor is need if you dont have 125 % of poverty for 2 people

which is $18325 the petetionier needs to make year to qaulify to meet the

requirement for USCIS. IF you dont meet them than you need a co sonsor to

qualify to be approved to get your CR-1 Visa.

The co sponsor has to meet the 125% poverty an better to have 3 year back

taxes IRS returns to submit to USCIS at your inteview to be able to be

apporved to get your CR-1 Visa. Google I-864 to review to see what is

required for a co sponsor.

Good Luck
