Hey,

I'm currently filling out the AOS forms after getting married last week very spontaneously to my long term girlfriend. I arrived as a visitor/tourist under an approved ESTA. In most forms I'm asked for the I-94 number, which hasn't been given out since the ESTA is in place. Should I just fill in my ESTA number and submit a copy of my approved ESTA application and copy of the stamp in my passport which I got upon arrival? Thank you for your help!

Should be a white or green card marked I-94, or I-94W stapled in passport.

While DHS continues to work together with the airlines to fully automate the I-94W process, all VWP travelers applying for admission at a U.S. port of entry, including VWP travelers who have obtained travel authorization via ESTA, must present a completed Form I-94W to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The number will be on this card.

You are not adjusting from a family based visa like a K-1, so will move this thread to the correct forum.

From what I understand, they have stopped giving out paper I-94Ws at many airports... it's all automated now. OP- your ESTA number is not your I-94W number, because your ESTA number is good for two years, right? And each entry gets a different entry number, right? But I don't know if you put none... or unknown, or if you can look it up. Maybe another recent VWP entrant can give details on what they did. Good luck.

AOS for my husband

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

You are right. I didn't receive a paper I-94W at LAX. I have no number or anything on the stamp or in my passport. Yeah, the ESTA number is good for two years and stays the same. I imagine USCIS will look up my information via the ESTA number. The I-94 gave them the same information before.
