I didn't work in 2009 , so my mom claimed me and my son on her taxes because we live with her, do I still have to submit a letter explaining why i didnt file taxes, if my mom claimed me?

I tried looking of the irs rule where if you're not working, you dont't have to file, but i couldn't find it, and i was on the irs.gov website?

Any advice i would really appreciate it!

Is easier to file a late ZERO return, and attach this to your I-864, that trying to explain why you did not file a return.

Note: petitioner always is required to submit an affidavit of support as PRIMARY sponsor, can use parent as a joint sponsor.

My mom claimed me and my son because she supported me all last year while i was unemployed and had no source of income, so she claimed us. I am the petitioner and i am currently employed but i am going to use my mom as a joint sponsor as well.
