Dear VJ friends,

I am confused about the form needed to be filled out by a joint sponsor.

My husband does not make sufficient income, so his parents will be my joint sponsor. Shall they fill the i-864A (contract between sponsor and household member) Or i-864 ??

My husband is not longer listed on his parents' tax return file as dependents, so my understanding is he is no longer a household member of his parents, so his parents need to fill the i-864. Am I right?

If they fill the i-864, shall both mom and dad fill two i-864? Or only one is needed to fill i-864? (They file tax jointly)

Thank you!

One of his parents can only fill out the I-864A if you are living in the same house as them, otherwise they fill out the I-864. Also it depends if one of them makes sufficient income or if both of them are needed to sponsor with the forms.
