Iv'e noticed a major difference between the teens in Europe, especially Eastern Europe vs the teens here when it comes to having a clue.

Here it's the latest IPOD, clothes craze/fad, music, reality TV, etc... In Eastern Europe the teens actually have intelligent conversations about politics, economy, etc... Over there it's nothing to see a teen preparing dinner, planting/picking in the garden, preparing homemade wine, canning, etc... You don't see that here often. I would say they mature way faster across the Atlantic than they do here.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Do you think that this is due to different lifestyles and family values?

Yes. Especially in Eastern Europe. It's like we were a decades ago. Close knit family's, rules, respect, etc... My grandmother got married when she was 15... North Dakota farm family, my mother was 16... Washington state farm/ranch family. I'm not saying it's a good thing, I'm just saying it's different from what you see here in the states these days. My grandmother raised five children and lived a long prosperous life, same with my mother. They weren't any worse for getting married at such an early age. Every individual is different. To say that all 17 year olds are too immature for an adult relationship with someone older is false I imo. Everyone is different. And what happened to this man is nothing short of barbaric.

Well said. And I think it starts with the family unit.
