Affadavit of support

I'm currently petitioning my wife. She lives in the Philippines. I mailed my i-130 already and waiting for the next step, affadavit of support. My question is, I have no income whatsoever because i'm a college student. I never worked, yet, in my life. Could my father, who works in the military, be the one to fill up the affadavit of support on my behalf? His income is well above the poverty line. Since I make nothing, do i still need to fill up the affadavit of support form?? Will it cause any delays since I have no work experience??

You will have to fill out the affidavit of support. However, you will need your father to Co-Sign it. Its kinda like getting a car loan. If you dont have enough credit, you still fill out the primary loan forms, but you get someone else to cosign on the loan.

Not to worry. Your father can definitely co-sponsor if the poverty line requirements are met. You fill out the I-864 because you are the main sponsor (despite the income coming from the co-sponsor) and your father must fill out one too.

And as far as the poverty line goes do you have to have 125% for a 2 person household or 125% of the co-signer (and family if applicable) + petitioner + beneficiary?

The co-signer just has to support his household and the beneficiary, not the petitioner.
