My fiance's current place...Would it affect our K1 application?

Hello.

I don't know if this is a problem, but I would like to ask anyways. My bf is originally from TX. Due to work, he moved to KY. He is now renting a room in the apartment of a girl from his work. Would that affect our application? Does he need to find his own place before we file it? Hope for a response. Thanks in advance.

Mar 08 2011 - Delivered to Dallas

Mar 11 2011 - Check in cashed..

Mar 12 2011 - Initial Review; Status Last update...

Mar 14 2011 - NOA1 received by email - petition routed to VSC

Aug 10 2011- unexpectedly received mail from NVC saying we are approved

w/ my MNL case # on it.

Aug 11 2011- My approved petition already at USEM :)

Aug 16 2011- Finally, USCIS update our status..

Aug 22-23 2011 - Medical Exam: Passed! yay!

Aug 22 2011 - finally received hardcopy of NOA2 on mail and we were approved since Jul 13, 2011

Sep 02 2011 - Interview date! approved!

Sep 14 2011 - Visa received!

Sep 19 2011 - POE (Guam)

Oct 14 2011 - Wedding Day

Nov 21 2011 - AOS Sent

Nov 25 2011 - AOS Delivered

Nov 30 2011 - NOA1s received by email/

Dec 06 2011 - NOA1s hard copies received dated Nov 30, 2011

Dec 22 2011 - Biometric done

as long as he has an address to receive mail all should be fine for the petition... As long as you can demonstrate a bonafide relationship the all should be fine for the visa

doesn't really matter where you live. . .my brother-in-law petitioned his wife, they left this Sept. and they only rent a room. . .as long as he can support you financially (otherwise there is a co-sponsor option)...the place where he lives isn't really an issue. . .and of course you need to prove that the relationship is bona-fide. . .best of luck! My husband rented out a room while our application was ongoing so that we could save some money. Two weeks before we arrived he moved to our own apartment. What matters is that he has an address where he can reliably receive mail from USCIS and NVC during the whole process.

02-23-2018: Date on NOA, retrieved from online account

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

03-08-2018: Biometrics complete

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

Hello All! Thanks for the replies...

He opened a PO BOX to receive mails because he moved for 2x now since he transferred to KY. I read on some post that it is okay to use PO BOX as an address...right? pls. correct me if I'm wrong...:)

hello!!..same as above..my husband(fiance before..lol) also rented a room..but he moved out to our condo now a week before we start with our K1...and they are right, it doesn't matter if where he lives as long as he has an address to receive the mails....hmmm..regarding PO box, I'm not sure..btw, why won't he just use the address of the place where he is living now??.. :blush::blush:

Using a P.O. Box is ok, as long as he is consistent about it.

After he has found a more permanent address, he will have to report the change in his address (especially if there is an ongoing petition).

we encounter another problem, my fiance forgot the date of birth of his parents. he tried to call them but to no avail. guess because of their old misunderstanding. anyways, I just want to know if we can simply put the "unknown" on the date of birth of his parents on the biographical info of my fiance? I'm afraid they might reject us because of that...:( pls help....

Does he not know how old they are? He can write unknown if he truly doesn't know, but if he has at least a year it would help.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
