Completely to my surprise, I got a letter from DHS, setting my biometrics appointment for January 14th 2 1100.

The notice date is the December 17th( I saw that my forms were touched that day. maybe that's what it was) I wasn't really expecting to hear from them this soon.

I wonder if an early walk-in really speed up the process. Or is it just something we do to make us feel like something is happening?

I may try to do that. I have nothing to loose :)

Hi! I also filed this month. However I had to file the i130 alone in our circumstance. It was received at the Chicago lockbox on Dec 20. I received the text and email confirmation on Dec 22, which I thought was kind of quick! My package was then sent to California processing center!

Welcome aboard!!!

Wow!!! I was wondering when you will show up here since we are following the same timeline!

My husband suggested going next week, but was wondering if it wouldn't be better to do it after the holidays. I don't want to give them a reason to refuse( like busy with the holidays )

Let us know how it goes for you

From what I see here, it is a it and miss. some people are able to check it online others not!

I did indeed! Tried this morning I got there early enough( around 8am) but didn't get to do it until around 9am. They did not check the date or time of the appointment. Just got there took a number, filled the paperwork and waited for my turn.

It will be interesting to see how it affects the timing with the EAD

Hope you get to check your status online soon!

Unfortunately, none of my case numbers are showing up online. Thought they might appear after biometrics but no such luck so I can't see "touches" or anything like that.

I'm a November filer and my experience is the same. I've used the receipt numbers from the biometrics letter and NOA1 letters and none of them show up.

I have seen people here saying that the receipt number on the back of your cleared cheque is also relevant. So far as I could make out from the scans my bank puts online, the two cheques (one for I-130, one for I-485 with supporting applications for EAD and AP) had two FURTHER, DIFFERENT numbers on them.

One of these actually does show up in the system, as an application for EAD (which, I suppose it is in part) but claims the application has been put on hold due to a bounced cheque. Since I can see the cheque didn't bounce, I strongly suspect the status reported for that receipt number is nothing to do with my application. I haven't received a letter saying the process is stalled, and I got my biometrics appointment letter after the cheque cleared, which also suggests that the process is not stalled. So it all seems to be a bit of a mess.

2010-11-18: sent AOS package to Chicago lockbox

2010-12-04: received NOA1 letters

2010-12-10: received biometrics appointment letter

2010-12-27: attended biometrics appointment

2011-02-04: Advance Parole receipt appeared online, in "Post-Decision Activity" state

2011-02-07: EAD receipt appeared online, in "Card/Document Production" state

2011-02-10: received Advance Parole letter

2011-02-11: notification of EAD activity, state: "Card/Document Production"

2011-02-14: notification of EAD activity, state: "Post Decision Activity"

2011-02-16: received EAD card

2011-02-28: received notice of interview

2011-04-13: received green card

I wish they would sort out the issues with the online system. It seems that there is no point providing the service if it does not work.
