Feeling really Stressed now

I am feeling a little stressed out right now and am looking for some advice.

Here's my story... I am a Nebraska service center transferee. My NOA1 was March 7 the day IMBRA went into effect. Before I found VJ on the web I had considered getting an attorney but after reading all the great info here on VJ and with the help of all the wonderful people here I felt I could do this by myself. For two months before I sent in my application I read everything I could and felt confident I understood the process. I continued to follow the K-1 Forum and IMBRA topics as much as I could. After the long wait I decided to stop checking my online status every day and making myself crazy with trying to keep up with all the ideas and possibilitys and just sit tight and wait. I however failed to look ahead and Prepare for the next steps in the process as well as I should have.

I received My NOA-2 August 7. I looked at the guides section again and saw that I should wait about two weeks to call NVC and get my case number and find out when they sent my application to the embassy. I called NVC two days ago August 22 and they said they had sent my application to the embassy in Peru that very day. I have been working so much overtime in the last two months that I have not been able to follow things and sometimes I am not able to check my email for a couple of days. In the last two weeks I have worked 40 hours overtime and feel Like I don't know if I'm coming or going! Any way I sent a pm to a VJ member that has gone through this process in Peru and they have graciously agreed to correspond with and help my Fiance as her English is still somewhat lacking and I know every embassy is somewhat different.

Here is my Question for anyone kind enough to read this longwinded post and offer me advice.

The guides section seems to be very vague about this step in the process. And after the site went down a while back it is much harder to get information. In my searches I have seen something about a choice of agent form ...What is this? also I have found things suggesting that I should have paid some kind of fee?

The guides say that I should start gathering the things I need but does not say what things? I think I have everything I need for the interview such as a certified copy of divorce decree birth certificate ect. ect When I called NVC two days ago the operator said that they would not be sending me any notification and that all my questions should be directed to the embassy.

Please someone tell me that I have not completely blown it and forgotten some important step here as I am feeling very unsure of myself at this moment.

At the interview you have to prove your relationship and show that you can support your fiancee. Not sure how things work in Peru but my fiance brought:

his original birth certificate and passport

copies of my birth cert and all pages in my passport.

Tons of pictures of us - all dated (about 1.5 years worth)

3 years of my W2's

Proof of my travels to mexico including plane tickets, hotel expenses

my original pay stubs (they specifically asked for originals)

I gave my fiance bank statements and proof of all my assets like investments and home to show proof that I'm financially stable. (althought they didn't ask for all this - but you never know)

Then forms they mail you in the packet.

Also we had original cell phone bills and emails

They will ask your fiancee questions about your relationship including how you meet, engagement, etc.

Be prepared. Having too much wont't hurt you. Better too have too much than not have want they want.

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is notarized (by a public notary), with all required supporting evidence. Some consulates may require a different form. Some require an I-864. If yours does, send that instead. You can call or email the consulate to check. Additionally, the consulate will notify your fiance(e) via mail correspondence which they prefer. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these asap after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134/I-864. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134.

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

I'm worried that I am going to have a problem with this. I made only one copy of the package and somehow managed to lose it. If I ship this new package with the same information to my fiancee to sign and bring with her to the interview, are we going to be okay or do you think they'll kick back? I wonder if I should call the consulate and ask or call USCIS and see if they'd send me a copy of the original paperwork for a fee.

I would not worry as long as ALL the information is an EXACT match. To split hairs a copy is a copy wether it came from the hard drive or a copy machine it just says copy.

Take a deep breath. You are dealing with the Peruvian Embassy now, not the NVC... here's a link to some info which may help:

YuAndDan's response was thorough and applies to 'most', but check that against what your fiancee receives in the mail. Has she already had her medical and does she have her vaccination record and police certificate(s)?

After having had some sleep now and done some further reading it looks like the fee I read about and choice of agent form do not apply to a K-1

I am usually a fairly relaxed and easy going person but this whole process seems to really get to me.

the K1 visa just basically passes through the NVC before it gets sent to the Embassy/ Consulate... It doesn't spend much time there... The info you were probably reading was in reference to the CR1 visa..... so I wouldn't stress about it...
