Have her watch cartoons with the subtitles. Or educational shows with subtitiles. The speed of of speaker of children's programs and educational programs are slower and easier to understand. With subtitles, she'll be able to read and pick it up faster than w/o it.

If anyone is serious about helping their loved one learn english and they are computer savy, pm me, I have over 80 gig of learning software some of the programs I have cost over $200 usd, many for beginner up to more advanced, grammar, pictionary, game based, some have speech recognition the whole nine yards.

Excellent advice. You can also download the VLC Media Player and slow down the playback of videos or songs. When you open a track you go to Playback>Slower or Slower (fine). It's pretty cool.

I don't know if this applies in your family, but in some, do NOT allow her to watch those Chinese movies, film bo. Waste of time due to the addiction and she won't learn a thing in regards to improving her English.

My wife hate watching Chines movies or series...but she does love Korean cinema:)
