Depending on where you depart from the trip can be less than 24 hours. It really depends on the layovers. I find that doing a search on Orbiz or others first helps you get an idea of itineraries and prices. Never found travel agents to be any cheaper.

I'd look at as two itineraries, one a R/T from Nashville to wherever you get on the international flight and another R/T from ATL/JFK/IAD/LAX/DTW, etc to SGN.

There are midnight flights on China Airlines out of LAX and SFO with short layovers in Taipei.

Morning flights on Cathay Pacific out of JFK with 2 hour layover in Hong Kong.

Delta / Vietnam Airlines out of JFK with short layover at Narita.

I fly ANA Airlines. I buy the ticket direct from them online. I've found that there prices are always inline with orbitz or anyone else. I fly out of IAD in Washington D.C.

How much did you pay for your ticket? For me, buy directly from the website costs a lot more than what I paid to a travel agent.

Just put some random April dates in on Orbitz and saw several itineraries going BNA-SGN through Chicago taking 25 hours +/-. Just gotta play with dates.

How much did you pay for your ticket? For me, buy directly from the website costs a lot more than what I paid to a travel agent.

the costs of the trips I have made are in order, and ALL through Orbitz

$2300

$1200

$715 NO I did not forget to add a 1 or 2 to this price

As Anh Map has said, Check Orbitz, or even priceline, they are about as much as any other airline deal, usually when I go to the website of the carrier, the price is more than on Orbitz, mainly because most airlines are in partnerships to keep all the flights full so Delta, and ANA or the others share airlines, so going with Orbitz is usually the best bet, and you will get all your miles as well.

Delta flys out of Atlanta, so I think you should look at Delta on Orbitz, If you do what Anh Map said, be aware that if your first flight is late then they do not have to honor your second ticket. I have been able to get cheaper fares booking my own flight to where the international one will leave from, but I never did it because I have usually always had 1 delay either going or returning, and i really didnt want to spend extra money because I tried to save $50 by buying each ticket seperately. I usually give myself 2 hours per airport, and then 4 on the return to the first US airport to allow through customs, and my total flight times have usually been between 24 and 32 hours total. Hope this helps, and good luck

My 1st flight cost 1240. I booked 3 months in advance. My 2nd flight was 1601 booked 3 weeks in advance. my 3rd flight 1540 booked 2 months in advance. what i have seen the further in advance you book your flight the cheaper your flight.

I agree with Jermone flying during the week will give you a cheaper price.

My layover in Narita is always around 3 hrs going and coming.

with the attitude north korea has. I'll stay out of south korea airspace.
