Marriage Certificate Vs Notarized Marriage Licence

Hi Guys I just need some of your idea or suggestion regarding AOS Application.

I got married last 7/31/06 and still waiting for my marriage certificate until now..

I just called my lawyer today then she told me that notarized marriage license is acceptable in

filing AOS.

Is anyone of you guys had this experienced filing W/marriage license?

12-24-08- 129F SENT TO CSC

12-26-08- PACKAGE RECEIVED SIGNED BY: V SEMEGI

12-30-08- NOA1 SENT

12-31-08- MONEY ORDER CASHED

01-03-09- NOA1 HARDCOPY RECEIVED

01-02-09- TOUCHED

03-11-09 EMAIL APPROVAL/NOA2 WOW 71 DAYS ONLY!

03-14-09 NOA2 HARDCOPY IN MAIL

03-16-09 NVC IS WORKING ON IT.. GOT MY MNL CASE#

03-17-09 NVC FORWARDED CASE TO USEM

05-07-09 INTERVIEW FOR K1 VISA APPROVED

06-08-09 ARRIVAL AT LAX

As far as I know a marriage license is NOT good enough. The license only shows that you are eligible to marry but the Marriage certificate is what proves that you actually got married. If I were you I would wait until that certificate comes. I know how it is to wait for it. In Vgas it took us almost three weeks to receive ours. Good Luck!!

09/15/06- AOS APPROVED!! got email saying welcome letter was sent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/20/06- welcome letter received!!! and approval email sent

09/21/06- touched and GREENCARD RECEIVED!!!!!

06/08/07- one year anniversary

06/08/08- two year anniversary

06/08/09- three year anniversary

Removal of Conditions

06/17/08- package sent to California

06/19/08- California receives package

06/19/08-NOA1

06/28/08-Biometrics appointment

07/28/08-touched

09/01/08-received non conditional green card

As far as I know a marriage license is NOT good enough. The license only shows that you are eligible to marry but the Marriage certificate is what proves that you actually got married. If I were you I would wait until that certificate comes. I know how it is to wait for it. In Vgas it took us almost three weeks to receive ours. Good Luck!!

Agreed, you need to submit a copy of the certified marriage certificate. It doesn't need to be notarised, but it does need to be a copy of the actual marriage certificate.

yup, just a regular photocopy of the actual marriage certificate. Per the I-485 instructions.
