Ah you gotta love her majesty's government. I got one as well. Did you fill out a P85 before you left?

I filled it out last month and sent it from here.

I actually got all the accompanying paperwork from Queenie & co this afternoon in the post. Amazingly, it appears they did me a favour...not only did they refund me for this tax year but also an additional £500 that I apparently overpaid in 2008/2009. Didn't ask them to look at it and definitely didn't know I'd overpaid.

Pity they waited until I'd left the country to do something nice for me!

Lucky you on the combo card btw. As I was approved the day they made the announcement I got them separately...the paper AP looks like it will be a right PITA when I use it in a couple of weeks!

Got a text from the USCIS. At first, I thought, it's for my EAD. Went to their website, I checked my EAD status first, but it was still under Initial review. Checked my AOS case and it said they ordered production of my new card. I still can't believe it. Cuz it went from Initial Review to Card/Document Production.

Sooooo happy :dance::dance::dance:

You mention that the online status went from "initial review" straight to "card production", but your timeline mentions that the case was transferred to CSC. Did you call or did they mail you the information that your case was moved to CSC? Thanks

They mailed me a letter that my case has been transferred to CSC (it also showed on their website). It has been under Initial Review until this afternoon, they sent me a text that my case has been updated. When I looked on the USCIS website, it was already under card production. And just a little bit ago, it went to Decision. Just to tell me that they already mailed me a notice that they ordered production of my Permanent Resident card.

Ok thanks. My timeline is close to yours but I never received any notice of the case being transferred. It just reads "initial review" since Jan 9th on the website.

Got a refund for 2009/2010. Thought that would be the last of it. But they sent me another cheque last week and a new tax code.

A 747L. Keeping it if I ever go back to live in the UK.

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGHGHGHGHGH

Got an email from USCIS regarding my last active case, my AOS. Heart skipped a beat...

But no. It's another RFE. Why couldn't they get that out of the way when they sent me my other RFE at the beginning of the year?!

So disappointing when I think today could've been my day. Now I have to wait and worry for a week for the bit of paper shows up before I can know what it's for.

Grumpy :(

Sweetness..I went to the SS office last Wednesday. I already had a SSN, but I needed to change my name and list that i'm able to work. They said that my Green Card was not noticed yet in the system so they said I won't get my new card for about 4 weeks..Hoping that it will show up faster then they said.

Why so many RFE's? Maybe the RFE that went to NBC didnt make it to CSC. Hopefully it is something stupid like that

Went to DMV today and did the driving test (I now understand why US drivers as horrendous). For some reason I was incredibly nervous.

After a minor hitch with proof of VA residency, all went Well.

Good luck onm the roads of Ohio. If the driving test is as simple as the one in VA then you will have no problems.

Congratulations! Yea I had to wait for a cab after my test and I watched 5 people do the test in the 40 minutes I waited. It was a quick trip down the street then they watched them park. I was a little shocked that that was all they wanted you to do so I'm not too nervous. I am nervous about driving with these crazy Americans!

Question for all you who got their green cards: After that you went to get your SSN right? Well what if I already have an SSN with my married name on it? Should I go and get a new one, or just update my status with the social security office?

Oh. GONgrats To your learners permits/driving lisences! I have had mine for a while but I do not know how to drive AT all :( I feel sorry for everyone that its gonna be driving w me:D

Ugh, I don't know. My first RFE was for 'initial' evidence and this is for 'additional' evidence, but still doesn't explain why they didn't just ask me for both at the same time. I'm going back to my assumption about the original RFE which was my medical, which is a pain but I took a calculated risk in only sending my DS-3025 when I was missing one jab for allergy reasons.

I'm flying home on Wednesday though, so I'm really hoping the RFE gets here before then otherwise I'm going to be worrying about it when I should be enjoying myself!
