what kind of job? Where did you find it? I've been looking for 2 weeks and no luck so far.

It's in the Education department at Sea World. Seasonal and pretty low paid, but it's something and I've kind of always wanted to work for them. I've had an annual pass since 2007 and whenever I go with friends I bore them senseless with dorky information about all the animals, so really it's the perfect job for me ;)

Edit to add this: I'm not sure what you are looking for, but if you are willing to do anything just to get a bit of money in, both Disney and Universal are hiring for hourly positions. This is my plan. So long as you don't have pink hair and 10 million piercings you have a reasonable chance of being hired by Disney, although they still haven't called me back...

In sort-of job-related news, I just found out I have received my UK income tax refund, which is a rather good way to start the week :D

May just received her Green Card in the mail today but The name on the card is "May A. Del Rosario Brody". All the paperwork we have submitted plainly shows the she hyphenated her last name as "May A. Del Rosario-Brody".

Her employment card arrived yesterday and her name included the hyphen.

Is the hyphen missing from her name on her Green Card something we need to fix? Or just a limitation of the system that produces the card?

What have my fellow VJers seen?

Thanks in advance

Adam & May

Ah you gotta love her majesty's government. I got one as well. Did you fill out a P85 before you left?

Ok... Im over the moon I got my green card before my EAD, but I like the look of the EAD better.lol

I look so much better on my EAD and I am in colour. And the EAD is one of the new combo cards with advance parole.

Oh Im such a shallow person lol.

Started applying for jobs. For some reason this is scary to me. Never had a problem at home but here for some reason is different. And why do companies with online application forms want to know yout every personal detail, just tp apply.

Very cool on receiving the cards, wondered who would post first about the combined EAD/AP card. Does it have anything resembling how many times you can use it? I only applied for a single trip so wonder about that.

I know the feeling about recruiters/companies here wanting to know everything, I'm due to go to my second interview for a job tomorrow, hoping my cards will show so I can take it with me plus they are wanting me to basically study so I can have a load of questions for them, interesting.

Congrats again, & thanks again for the waters & their feelings.

Got a text from the USCIS. At first, I thought, it's for my EAD. Went to their website, I checked my EAD status first, but it was still under Initial review. Checked my AOS case and it said they ordered production of my new card. I still can't believe it. Cuz it went from Initial Review to Card/Document Production.

Sooooo happy :dance::dance::dance:

Wonders will never cease with this place, nice shiny green card in the mail (complete with weird looking silver envelope, reminiscent of the old movies with people wearing tin foil no?)

Will reserve judgement on which card is prettier when the others make an appearance, but so far they look good, esp when you know you don't have to worry bout things for a cpl years

Remember November of Next year is when we have to apply to remove conditions. Dont get into the mindset of two years.

You would think they could also send it in a more secure matter. After all its is a VERY important document.

Why November next year for removing conditions? Is this a hard & fast rule or just like everything else it takes forever?

Apply for removal of conditions 90 days before you Greencard expires. I assume you greencard expires some time in Feb 2013.

So 90 days previous to that is November 2012. November of next year.

Well dont leave it till Feb 2013 to get the form and evidence in. If you dont get it in on time and the conditional GC expires. They will deport your ####.
