Hi everyone,

My wife got her green card in the mail today! I was really surprised because there was the expectation that it would take about 6 months and that there would be an interview before getting the card. It seems like others got their green cards in the same fashion. Anyone have any idea what happened to the interview part? It just seems too good to be true after all the waiting for the fiancee visa, etc. :)

Congratulations. Some people's cases were transfered to the CSC. This step usually forgoes an inerview and is meant to expedite the process, however some applicants have reported this process has taken them longer. It is good to see it worked fine for you.

Last night great things happened, after my 5-a-side game I found the text saying the USCIS had registered this applicant as a permanent resident.

Then this morning the second email stating Card/Document production so it has all happened for us as well.

Congrats to everyone else, someone has been wanting to get the numbers up in the CSC or something.

Now I can enjoy the first shuttle launch I will get to see, even tho it will from Tampa at 4:50pm today.

Well there is no need to thank me or my waters but it might be nice

Congratulations. TOLD YOU!

Enjoy the shuttle launch, I think its NASA's last one. Or did they extend the program.

Your waters have been nothing short of amazing, you sure they're not psychic or something??

Last flight for Discovery then its retired, not sure if there are any more launches after but maybe. Hoping there are so we can get over to Cocoa Beach to watch one.

Thanks a lot for the support

Checked the shuttle launches, 2 more for April & June so with luck we can get over there & watch. Apparently you can see the trail from Tampa.

Thank you for the response! We had been expecting to have to do an interview the whole time, but it's a relief to know that this is no longer necessary. Congratulations to those who've gotten their green cards and best wishes to those who are still waiting to hear back.

Fabulous. Congratulations!!

Me and the hubby drove down to Titusville to watch the launch - it was on my bucket list and I'd made 4 aborted attempts to head out that way in November when Discovery was supposed to go up. It was absolutely AWESOME, well worth the paralysing traffic on the way home...although I think perhaps once was enough ;)

Got my first callback about a job yesterday!! It was a mini-phone interview (don't know how well I did given I had a beach chair in each hand at the time...). They're going to let me know whether or not they want to interview me. It would just be a seasonal position until August but better than nothing...fingers crossed!!

Pinkmartini, sorry you are having the same issue! I checked the USCIS local office timeline. Last month they were processing apps from July, this month August, so I figured by that measure, it will be May/June before they start working on the December ones. I hope I am wrong, though!
