You can try. I doubt it would make any difference you have a job waiting tho.

Government moves at government speed with government ways of doing things. We mere mortals have to accept their messianic attitudes.

I really really hope you get your EAD ASAP.(Everything else as well).

The company are aware that I have a kind of max timeframe, but it would be nice to make some arrangements now or at least prepare.

I wonder if it is even worth it calling them? I haven't had much joy with that road before.

Forgot to mention: my EAD went into post-decision activity today, so assuming it's in the mail :)

Ok I know I should be thankful that I have been approved for greencard,EAD and AP and should stop fretting but how come the mail to Va seems to be slower than the mail to Fl. Reading your blog you got your EAD on Saturday so where is my stuff. After all I got notifications the same time as you. Grrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :crying::lol:

Oh And I miss terms like "chuffed to bits".

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

Call them. Im sure you have discovered the joys of the 1800 number. You need to get throught the automated system, the joys of talking to the automated drones (In fairness its not their fault) who will just reguritate what you already know, then be told to call back in 30 days.

Check the website one last time.

I have a feeling in my waters (A good a way as any of knowing) that this will be your week.

I love the 800 system, don't you?? :bonk: esp with the highly interested individual on the end of the phone repeating the standard line & to 'call back in 30 days'.

I hope your waters are the way of knowing ;-)

I have to say the arrival of my EAD was quite a big surprise, I wasn't expecting it for at least a week!! I can't fathom the USPS timeframes though. It took 2 months for a package my Mum sent me to get here - the one I sent her in the opposite direction took 4 days. There is no rhyme or reason, methinks!

I went to an "interview" last Friday but actually spent an hour and a half with 7 other people being shouted at by a very greasy insurance salesman who was trying to recruit us as agents. The interview was a waste of time - I had to actually prompt the pillock to ask me questions! It was a bit frustrating, because I knew I didn't want the job but I drove 60 miles anyway just to get some interview experience, and didn't get any. But hey ho. I've applied to work at Disney again just to get some money (albeit not a lot) coming in the door while I look for something more challenging/lucrative!

I'd be interested to hear what industries everyone's looking to go into and with what experience? I know it's a bit OT but with EAD's being approved more and more I was wondering about it :)

A bit like yourself, any job will do to bring in money (dont knock Disney, it is the happiest place on earth  )

I am or was a communications engineer in public safety. There are very few opportunities in VA for such creature. Now in Florida its a different story. That in itself might prompt us to move down there.

Only problem is the schools where I live are brilliant and my children are benefiting greatly from them. I am torn.

I am kind of being chased by an engineering firm in Orlando that are wanting to know when I can start......... hard without an EAD at the minimum. Very interested in it, will be designing & installing new Gas Turbine Control systems.

I had an interview with Verizon wireless. I would be working in the financial part and not overly excited about it but its good paying and 5 minute walk from our place. So definate pluses but its temporary. We wanna save money this year and next year we are getting our first house! No more apartment living. I plan on going to school to be a dog groomer and I hope to open my own shop once we get settled

The mailman has just handed me two envelopes. One is "Welcome to the United States"

The other is a priority mail envelope with my Permanent Resident card.

I feel elated and deflate at the same time. Shakey and silly grin on my face.

All these emotions at the same time on top of a bad cold. A wonderful mixture I can tell you.

You also get a little metalised envelope to keep your card in to prevent wireless communication. (so it say on it anyway)

Oh and the picture is horrendous. :D

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

To tell you the truth Im slightly nausiated, but in a good way.

Im sure the only comment I will get from the wife is, "have you sent of any job applications yet?"
