Ooooh. What does it look like?

Question for you. Did your AP case go straight from 'Initial Review' to 'Post-Decision Activity'? I ask because I'm trying to figure out if what they've sent me in the mail is just an approval notice or my actual AP. I'm hoping the latter!!

I have a reservation for a flight home with AA on hold for the next 24 hours...just want to be sure it's in the post to me cos the flight's on March 2nd :)

Looks like an noa but your pictureis on it. It's weird. Mine went straight to post decision so yours is in the mail hun! I'm jealousu get to go home . Angel couldn't book vacationtime for march. And I should be working soon so my mom and step dad and little brother are comin to Ohio. Which is good but I wanted to be back in Canada for awhile

Morning to all & to all good luck!!

The best thing about having my beautiful wife in corporate immigration is the inside info, everyone needs to have a look at this little bit of information just released by the government.

Very interesting

This is really interesting, especially as it doesn't say when it's effective from. My EAD was approved on the 11th and the AP on the 12th, so will I get one document or 2?

Bloody good idea though, don't know why they didn't just do this in the first place quite frankly. Nobody wants more USCIS paperwork than they absolutely need!

From the Q&A section it seems like if you were given both documents, as long as they are within 120 days of them you may be able to get the single card. I am unsure whether or not that if you only applied for a single AP trip, does this get cleared for multiple trips with the card?

If it does, that's even more beneficial

Thanks for sharing the informative links kiwirst! It seems to have a useful purpose, having the EAD and Advance Parole on one document!

We just received an NOA that my husband's adjustment of status app was transferred to California Service Center. I recall several of folks in this thread having same happen to them - is is really much faster?

Another question - once my hubby gets his EAD, can he get a SS#, or do we have to wait for his green card to come in? We really missed the boat on the whole SS card issuance:(

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I am not sure why people haven't already applied for a SSN, I applied not long after we got married. I had to wait a while as it is related to your I-94 being placed into the system so for those who haven' applied yet & do now, you will get it really quickly as there has been a good amount of time from POE to now. Go online for the Social Security applying details, its pretty easy.

As for transfer, it can be either a slower process without interview or not, no rhyme or reason really.

I can only guess but the notice is dated the 11th so we talked about it last night, thinking that any approvals after then SHOULD be the new format, hopefully you will be the first to report if its true or not

It is a good idea, but its like putting a band aid over a plaster over another band aid over a severed leg.

Would it not be better to allow fiance(e)s a conditional green card(Limited to work and AP) of 6 months.

If you dont get married within the 6 months it expires. You have to leave or be deported.

When you marry, report it to USCIS (with usually ton of paperwork). The card is automatically extended for another 6 months. In this time the USICS can either interview or approve you for a full 10 year GC.

Speeds up the process allows people to work and contribute to the country finanically.

Only an idea.
