Man this waiting is a killer!!!!

After people here completed their bio's (walk in or appointment, no matter), how long before anyone saw ANY movement/touches/info on their cases??

I asked the guy at the bio appointment how long things happen & he said that the bio stuff gets electronically filed at the time of taking but takes 24 - 72 hours to hit the system (I'm guessing to be placed correctly with your case).

If you look at the bio appointment form, when the person scans your barcodes, your name/case everything shows up on the screen, so how come it takes so long if its automated?????

Sorry, little frustrated & desperate to get working.

agree. the waiting is BRUTAL!!!

i received the CSC transfer about 10 days after my biometrics walkin. the only other touch was just to tell me my EAD card had been ordered production, and that they sent me a notice that AP was approved. that happened just over 3 weeks after biometrics for me...ok trying to force myself to go do something instead of just twiddling my thumbs. i've actually been going to job interviews for the last several weeks so it's a mixture of stress + boredom for me.

Good news on the job interviews, at least they are interested in you enough to get to that stage. Most of my interest drops off rapidly when you say you don't know when you can give a start date =)

So I guess I'm being a LITTLE impatient if it took 3 weeks from your walk in huh??

I-751 Application - Nov 26, 2012.

i think you will hear around the 2 week mark. maybe even sooner... i was worried that they'd call me in to re-do my fingerprints because although i use handcream like 5 times a day, my hands are always really dry, and fingerprints look cracked! thankfully that didn't happen.

you will hear soon, just give it around 2 weeks. maybe you'll be one of those lucky folks who just get their AOS approved before their EAD :)

i guess i'm lucky because my husband and i have the same job, so he's been looking around for me. once i land a job, my plan is shopping spree and vacation!!

most jobs take awhile even after hiring for paperwork, etc to all get settled and contracts negotiated, so wouldn't a april/may start date work for you, kiwirst (at least in terms of what you could tell them).

Good to hear, as I did mine last Friday I will roughly count tomorrow as 1 week so with luck we are halfway there already

As for the GC approval straight through, one can only hope, pray & dream. More chance of guessing the correct lottery numbers than knowing how they make their decisions!

Lets reopen Ellis Island..... DO it the good old fashioned way. Come in on the Titanic and if you make it to the US, meet a nice official who tells you your name (because they cant understand you, so they write something down) stamps you in and away you go. Proper alien registration lol.

Yes I am slighty off balance today. Have flash backs to a time I never knew.

Ah! the good old days.

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

congrats on the biometrics appt!

try doing a thread search on walk ins at the dallas office.

Thank you, I was warned the Dallas office on Whitehurst does not do walk-ins, I tried my luck anyways...and guess what? they dont do walkins. lol....I usually will be frustraited. But the fact that I have the bio letter is motivation enough.....Now I just need to find something to occupy my time for the next 3 weeks. On average, how long after the bio appointment does it take to receive the card?

And can you still apply for a job with the card? (without receiving the social, because I know that will take additional weeks)

Don't give up, I tried three times to do a walk-in at Chula Vista in san Diego and I was accepted on the third time. Don't you have a trip or conference coming up round about the same time as your scheduled Bio appt? And to push the appt later would be detrimental.

that's too bad about the walkin. well, you tried.

i was notified my EAD and AP were approved about 3.5 weeks after i did my biometrics walkin. (which was about 3 wks or so before my scheduled appt).

receiving your social security card will take about 2 weeks from the time you go to the social security office until the time you receive it in the mail. did you get yours yet britnick?

for most jobs, not even factoring into account the unfavorable job market, it takes at least a couple months to get a job and finalize and negotiate the contract. a lot of employers will likely be turned off by the relatively still-uncertain start date, but still probably in everyone's best interests to at least scope out and get a feel for what's going on in your job market. agree that no one should not commit to a job without EAD in hand.

hey meggymo, quick question!

is this how the EAD notifications went for you? card production-->card production-->post decision activity?

i got my 2nd card production notification/touch yesterday. so presumably, the first card production means approved, second one means card produced, and post decision activity means mailed out?

thanks :)
