Just discovered on the USCIS website that my I485 was transfered to CSC on the 18th of Jan (The first time any of my receipt numbers have appeared on their site). Im not sure if this is good as it might mean mo interview or a bad thing that it will take longer to get.

Its activity tho. so WOOOHOOO!

Woot woot!! Great news!! I'm gonna go with it being a good thing :) it won't affect your EAD and AP so even if it does take a little longer you will be able to live like a normal human being without having to worry about the stress of an interview :)

Still no movement following the arrival of my RFE, but then I think if I hear anything this week it'll be amazing, so not that surprised :(

Happy things are moving quick for everyone here!! Just got my Biometrics letter last night in the mail. Thankfully their office is on my way to work :) so I will try to walk in on Monday.

Does anyone know if in case someone does not need to Trip Parole(I131) or Work Permit(I765) if the green-card process is a bit quicker??? I have an H1B visa now. Happy that so far all paperwork and fees were filed correctly -> saved 2K in lawyer fees.

It doesn't make any difference. All 3 forms are processed concurrently but not together, so your green card will take just as long whether you file for work and travel authorisation or not. Those work and travel permits just allow you to live more of a normal life while you are waiting for your green card.

By the way, if you are adjusting from a H1B, you should probably check out the Adjustment of Status from Work/Travel Visas forum. This is the Adjustment from Family-based Visas forum :) not that we're not happy to help, but we can't give you as good info!!

Wow things seem to be starting to move along. I was really hopping to get similar news. I would love to hear my case was transferred. Oh well even a touch on my case would make me happy.

On the plus side I have found something that has made me feel not so bored anymore!

I go to the gym on mon wed Fri with a friend of mine and then on Tuesdays and Thursdays I bus it down to the local dog pound and walk them!

I did it yesterday for the first time and it was soo much fun + a serious workout.

So I think I am just going to stop worrying about this whole waiting for AOS thing and just focus on having fun.

I would LOVE to do that, but everywhere round here is serious gas money away :( I've started volunteering for a holiday village in Orlando for terminally ill kids, did spa things on Tuesday and working on their horse program tomorrow :) it's nearly an hour away so can't really do it more than a couple times a week but its keeping me sane :)

Thats great though!

Is there any bus routes around you? I know it is not fun to take the bus but hey it is cheaper.

I just figured as long as I have something to go to and do a couple times a week it might help.

I found a decent bus route but it only gets me so far so I have to walk about a mile after but its way more than worth it!

Finally received our biometrics appt. letter for Feb. 9th (we submitted our AOS packet on 12/18/2010 and they received it 12/23/2010). I'll call the Alexandria office and see if we can "walk-in."

How long for the EAD to come after the bio appt.? We still haven't gotten my husband's SS card and missed the deadline when we finally figured out he could get one 2-3 weeks upon arrival (doh!!!) :(

Also, I'm thinking of changing my name (hyphenate my last name) - would it impact any of the forms my husband filed since I'm the US spouse? I couldn't figure out how the deadline for changing a name in VA but I would imagine the sooner the better!

Glad that everyone's process seems to be working well!!

Right on! Hope you can get a walk in.

Well I mean it all depends. Everyone here is still waiting on the EAD. It says you should receive it in 60 days after you file but it is different for everyone so just have to be patient. Some people get their EAD after their GC is already in production.

I don't have my SSN either bad info given to us resulted in that but it is not a huge deal. You can get that taken care of once you have your EAD or GC.

Hmm as far as the name change I wouldn't think so since you are the USC but you did have a form you filled out (I-864) so that MIGHT cause an issue I wouldn't think so but maybe who has a bit more knowledge on that will come along and help you out :)

Finally some info!!

Text that my case has been updated, USCIS saying my case has been transferred to CSC.

Can anyone tell me what that actually means in full? Is it because the local office has too many cases, is it something related to my case? I still haven't received a bio appointment either.

Yay woke up to a text from USCIS and my case got transferred to the CSC!!

I am really hoping for no interview and that I can just get my EAD and AP and relax for the GC.

It just means it was transferred to the CSC for processing. No one really knows the reason who gets transferred and who doesn't. Most say it is random.

There isn't anything wrong with your case though so don't worry about that. It may take longer to get your GC card now though. This is usually the case when it comes to the CSC but same processing times for your EAD and AP so it is not that bad

I am sorry to hear you are having to wait longer for your bio appointment it will come though!!

Here's hoping its in the post today. Having to wait longer for a GC isn't great, interview or not. Fingers crossed the work doc comes through asap, that's getting me more nervous than waiting for the GC

I know it sucks that we might have to wait longer BUT hey if we get the EAD and AP then it won't be that brutal of a wait.

I know I really need both my EAD and AP. No need to be nervous for the wait. It is not as extensive of a process as the AOS. I would just sit back relax and enjoy the new surroundings :)

If we have to wait, we have to wait. Like you, need the EAD & AP, we need to get to Montreal in April but can't book anything without knowing if I can go so that sucks big time. Then the work thing as well, thankfully we just got a decent help form the tax office for me, waiting for that to show up as well.

Love the waiting, should make life easier having to learn all of this patience

Oh Montreal! Lucky I love it there its beautiful.

My trip back home to Edmonton is supposed to be in March and I have complete faith that I will have the AP before the trip. I of course am not playing with fire and have not booked the flight yet but I am confident that I will be able to go :).

I am pretty sure you will have your AP by then too. Also the AP has nothing to do with your biometrics so don't worry about that having any affect on your AP.

yay for tax season! My hubby just got his W2 and its looking good. Just in time for him to spend lots of money on me for my BDAY! LOL
