Don't stress out! Everything will be fine!

I've just got message from USCIS with this 'case is now updated' - definitely somebody is working late there...

So it took them a week to get back to the case after receiving reply on RFE.

tiiiiiiiiiiime

Well having spend most of the night thinking about it (thank you USCIS for texting me just as I'm switching the light off to go to bed!!) I've got a couple of ideas what it can be. My vaccination record is incomplete for medical reasons (I'm missing the MMR) but decided to risk it and not do the I-693 anyway. So we just sent the vaccination record and a copy of my doctor's notes saying why the missing ones aren't medically appropriate.

The only other thing I've thought of is that his dad filled out an I-864A for us and we didn't send his proof of citizenship. But then, looking at the instructions, it doesn't say you have to provide it. So I'm getting more convinced it's the vaccinations, which is a pain because it will take quite a few days and $$$$ to sort out :( curse me and my allergies!! But just have to wait and see...really hope the hard copy comes today the suspense is driving me nuts...

I was asked if I was wearing any head jewelry. Apparently you're not allowed any. You'd think this was an important piece of advice to include in the appointment letter, considering some people have extensive piercings.

Haven't heard anything yet about my RFE, which they received Monday afternoon. But going on kaboom's experience, I won't til early next week. I hope. I need to start working...

I wasn't wearing any facial jewellery but I have quite a major tragus piercing in my left ear and they didn't say anything. They did study my fingers quite closely though ;) Guess it just goes to show that your experience with USCIS entirely depends on the mood of that person on that day. Hardly seems fair does it?

And for what it's worth my RFE notification last night says that they mailed my notice on the 11th, so they may have resumed work on your case already :)

That is exactly what I said!

I know rules are rules but I have been real good about this whole process and jumped through a bunch of hoops as we all have. That just really pushed me to the limit though. I mean my nose is just messed up now and I miss my piercing. Oh well I guess just got to deal with it.when I get my greencard I will treat myself to a new piercing. Hmmm decisions!

Biometrics went alright.

Walked in and filed out the for and all then this jerk sat me down and looked at me and said. "You have a nose ring?!"

my response was a puzzled uhh yea...

Geeez, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I really don't see why anyone would have to take a peircing out if you wear it all the time. Alot of things just don't make sense, but that's life..heh Don't let it get you down..at least biometrics is done and over with for now.

I would be going crazy too having to wait to see what it was for, totally ruins tha weekend.

I saw that someone else in this forum i think the name was SunDrop had a RFE listed in the *about me* timeline thingy saying: RFE hardcopy received: 06 January 2011 - If you use a co-sponsor, don't forget their proof of residency/ citizenship!

Maybe this is what it is for if you used a co-sponsor??

Hehe, speak of the devil, my RFE arrived about half an hour ago :)

It was indeed for our I864A's proof of citizenship, and also they want to see my hubby's 2009 tax return. Don't know why we didn't submit it in the first place but hey ho!

On the I864A instructions it doesn't say you have to provide proof of citizenship, so we didn't, but I guess it is logical that the same rules would apply. The RFE refers to him as a joint sponsor. Anyway, both are easily fixed, woohoo, will be sending it back express on Tuesday!

Yep, and it's my birthday tomorrow, so I'm considering the non-horribleness of our RFE as an early present ;)

Hey all,

We submitted our AOS packet on 12/18/2010, received NOAs on 12/23/2010 but still no biometrics appointment - should I be freaking out? We're based in the DC area and maybe there's a backlog but still looking at everyone's timeline gives me reason to worry (sigh). Or maybe it's because my hubby is Iranian???!!!!

It certainly has nothing to do with your husband's nationality.

We're in Arlington, VA, so the same area as you. The biometrics will be in Alexandria. They have been taking up to 2 months in recent months to get biometrics scheduled. Ours letter came in the mail 47 days after NOA. Good news is Alexandria allows walk-ins so as soon as you get the letter you can go in ahead of your scheduled day and get it taken care of.

I'm the USC petitioner.

It's been a month since NOA for EAD, AP and AOS. Called the USCIS 800 number and talked to a service rep. She couldn't find my case status in the system and as she put it "escalated" my call. The next service rep found my case and told me to wait, they are working on it. The waiting is the worst part of this whole process. Hopefully we will hear something soon.
