Trying to bring a family member to US for visitation

I want my mother in law to come to the US to visit. What is the process to bring her here as a visitor for lets say, one month... ??

She has to apply for a tourist visa herself in her country. She will send in the forms and fees and whatever else they need at the US embassy of her country then go to an interview and she will either be approved or not.

Generally, B2 visitors are stamped for 6 months upon entry. Degree of difficulty and specific proof that will be most useful at the interview vary depending on the consulate. Check with people who have recently applied for (and received) a B2 visa at YOUR consulate.

In most countries from the Asia , Africa and MENA getting a visitors visa is about like winning the lottery. The person applying must show beyond a dount that they will return to their home country. Things that help are a high paying job, lots of money in the bank, owning developed real estate or leaving young children in the home country.
