Is anyone else wondering why it has taken USCIS almost a month to update the processing times??? Do you think that it has to do with all the crazy terrorist stuff going on and maybe they are extending backround checks?? Our case hasn't been touched in almost two months!! I am getting a little impatient..my husband really neeeds to start working, I am starting school very soon and cutting back my hours. I know alot of us are waiting but I just need to vent alittle!! :( I think I may go crazy soon! :D You would think after the horrible process of a K1 I would be a professional at patience!

:hehe::D

One would think we'd all be the epitome of patience after going through the K1 process. *sigh*

I think the K-1 process has the opposite effect:

After having survived all that waiting for our K-1 visa, our nerves are already so frazzled that this new period of waiting starts to nibble at our sanity very very very quickly :wacko:

Of course, that's just my theory :lol:

Good luck to all of us who are still - or again - waiting,

Watching those processing times is like watching the proverbial pot that never boils. Try it some time and you'll see what I mean. I quit looking for about a month once and when I went back it had jumped ahead about nine months. By then it had reached the month we applied. I waited another couple of months and it was about three months after we applied. Finally, we got an interview 19 months after applying, one year after having an interview cancelled, and about six months later than the processing date posted at the time.

In the K1 process I was watching the times and settling in for a long wait when I got the approval notice in my email.

So the bottom line is don't put much stock in the processing times.

And put less in the online status. Ours never changed from the time it was entered until shortly before we had our interview 19 months later and then it was giving us bogus information we couldn't understand.

Sorry guys, I probably look stupid asking these questions, :( but what it actually means when your case is" touched"?And also, how can I check the processing dates? What do I need for it?

I'm really sorry, but I'm new and almost unexperienced :alien::oops:

I have filed my forms(i-485, i-130, and EAD all together) on 08/11/06, then I have received three NOA for them..and that's it..

got really sceared by previous posts abt undelivered mail-it had happened to me before, with other forms. Thus, I wonder how much time it usually takes to receive your Bio invitation after NOAs were received? :unsure:

Don't worry about that. Your AOS application was basically just received there. I never received any Biometrics invitation and in the end the whole AOS process took only 6 months (I know it's easy to say now but back then I was freaking out because it seemed to take forever). Just go ahead and check your case's status online on www.uscis.gov and maybe you'll see touch anytime soon.

EDIT: A "touch" is when you see online (on uscis.gov) that your case was worked on (you see it on the date stated there) but nothing has changed, you didn't get approved or at least anywhere closer to an approval.

thank you very much, Eveline. :dance:

it was very helpful and I am a little bit more familiar with a commonly used "terminology" now. I will follow your advice and God help me. You were right it is just a beginning, but feels like it's already something horrible and freaky.. :whistle: mama!!!!! :help:

I know I just checked it out! That's just our luck :no: How does that happen? Did they just find a big ol' stack of cases that were sitting on a desk somewhere that were lost for months and now they are processing them!! :D Maybe it was just a mistake and it's supposed to say May 23rd. ;) I guess in time we'll find out!! The good news is that EAD's moved up to June 11th!! I hope that counts for something!
