I have a random question. When someone gets into the U.S on a K-1 visa, i know they're not suppose to travel out of the country till their AOS is done and approved or @ least till they get advance parole. What if we're planning to go to Puerto Rico for honeymoon. Would that be considered a local flight since it a US Territory? Please advise

thanks

You may travel to Puerto Rico. As long as you fly and do not, say, take a cruise ship because then you'd actually travel out of the US just to go back in and that would then violate the terms of your K-1

Good luck

Puerto Rico is part of USA, a few month ago i called USCIS because we live in Maryland we were planing to visit Disney for our honeymoon and the USCIS told us that he cant get in an airplane not even to flight around USA thats because his Visa once we got married it expires and if for some reason they inspect us it will be a problem... So they told me to wait until de AOS was done to do travel! As I said this is what USCIS told us when we called for info... knowing them maybe its not the most accurate information!

Has anyone recently in the past few months travelled to puerto rico with entry to the US on a k-1 visa and no advance parole yet?

thanks

who w

History states the PUERTO RICO is US territory, no AP needed. Google it if you don't believe me. Everyone that was born in Puertro Rico has a blue passport book (USA).

You can travel to PR but you must not stop in any non US territory on your trip. If your travel doesn't stop in any non US territory then you are ok. The travel risk would be if the plane had trouble and had to stop in a non US territory you would then trigger an immigration inspection and be denied entry and have to start all over with a CR1. So make sure that there are NO non us stops on the flight.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
