I am foreign fiancee of US Citizen. my fiance entered to USA on sep 30 2010 on K1 Visa. Due to family emergency, I have to leave US before getting married, on 28th Oct 2010. It was really unfortunate because I had to use all the money we had for my grandma whu past away the 28th, what should we do now? does he have to leave the country?? we just got our license to married. thanks for ur help.

If you do not get married within 90 days after his arrival, yes he has to leave.

You do not need a lavish/expensive marriage ceremony...if you can get married at a courthouse with witnesses present, you will both be considered married. Your next problem would be how he will adjust status so he can get his green card (the fee is $1,070), which you can apply for anytime after you are married, even after his I-94 expires.

Can you give us a timeline of what happened when, and who is where now? You say he entered 30th Sept and left 28th Oct, but then you mention he is still here and you got a marriage license?

Like the others, I'm having a hard time following.

- Are you the USC, or is your husband the USC?

- Where are you both now? Are you both in the US? Is someone out of the country?

If it makes it easier, type it in Spanish and I will translate because it's a bit hard to understand what you're trying to say!

They're not allowed to do that. If they want to type in their native language that's fine, but only in the regional forums.

If there is going to be a translation to their question, why is it not allowed? Everyone else is going to understand.

If the OP wrote in BOTH languages themselves then it's usually permitted. It's just a rule of VJ that all postings are in english unless in the regional forum. If VJ starts allowing one exception it gets a bit ridiculous having the OP post in their language, then someone posting a translation, then replies in their language and someone posting a translation. English only in the upper forums is the rule. The OP should post in their regional forum if they want a translation.. or use Google Translate and post what google translate says (sometimes that could be interesting)

**Edit - maybe you could PM them and get the gist of it to post here??

Nica_in_love,

Perhaps you can send a PM to Sandy&Will asking for clarification in Spanish and getting a response, then posting the translation in English here? While we state English only in the immigration forums, if a non-English post is posted with an English translation so that all can understand and respond, that would also be acceptable. The reason for the English only requirement is to ensure everyone is able to understand the situation and respond appropriately. The original comments are certainly confusing with the inconsistent use of pronouns so it is hard to know what advice to offer. Getting a clearer picture of the situation would certainly help all concerned.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I think you are best off PMing Nica in your native language so she can provide us with an English translation, because it doesn't make sense that you are the petitioner yet also the foreign fiance, plus we still don;t know where you and your fiance currently are and what the timeline is. If you are the foreign fiance, maybe your US citizen fiance could come on here and post, assuming their English is more fluent?
