I'm getting together paperwork for my fiance that he'll need when he's able to go for his interview. For the I-134, I'm trying to make sure I have enough supporting documents to show my financial situation. I have a letter from my employer stating my start date, full time position, and salary. I have copies of recent pay check stubs. I also have transcripts from IRS of my last 3 yrs income tax filings. Is this enough information? On the transcripts is it alright to black out information like my SSN just in case something happens to the copy?

If you black out the number how would the adjudicator know it is yours?

They already have all of your info.

If you send the document using a courier (FedEx, etc.) then it ought to get to your fiance.

If you want to go ahead and black out the first 5 numbers on the copy that you submit leaving the last fou visible. Have your fiance also bring the original, unredacted, copy to the interview so the CO can examine it if they want.

Good idea about blacking out everything except for the last 4 numbers. I have a unique name so it should be easy to tell they're mine.

If there is more than one of you in the US you want the adjudicator to know it's you and not the other person with the same name. They have to be able to justify their decisions.

Just think of any way for things to cause a delay and then take all steps that you can to prevent them.

How did you get your tax transcripts? Did they come to you in the mail? With your social security number all over them?

I never worried about these things. I was more concerned with getting the job done.

Just my two cents.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

They did come in the mail. It took about a month from the time I mailed in the request for them to arrive. They have my name, address, and SSN on them. I'm concerned about identity theft because with a SSN there's a lot more that can be done than just with a name and DOB. It's not the people at the consulate or embassy I'm worried about but about things between now and then if something gets lost.

Nothing happened while the letter was in transit to you via US Mail.

Get my point?
