I'm really glad so many of you seem to think this is so amusing. Many thanks to those of you who actually took this SERIOUSLY and offered advice because I found it useful.

I'm also pretty sick of hearing how we aren't "real". I know who mcat is and what his story was and I'm sorry, but only an idiot would have believed any of that. It was pretty obvious he was trolling. If we really want to point fingers at stuff that sounds made up, I would have to say that a lot of what Gary writes about his wife sounds like BS. Who amasses a bunch of Master's degrees and doesn't go for a Ph.D.? It just sounds weird to me. If it's true, fine, whatever. I read a lot on here even if I don't post a lot, and there are a LOT of stories that don't add up. Are some of them true? I'm sure they are! Are some of them lies? Yes!

Julian overslept and missed his flight. Nothing sinister about it. He had gone to a going away party the night before and he was up late. Yes, it was stupid and he knows how I feel about it, but it wasn't because he has cold feet! He feels really terrible about all of it. He is now coming on Tuesday, which is a little too close to the ceremony and the rehearsal dinner for my liking but I have to live with it.

Best of luck to you; remember that if you compromise with one side and ask the other side to

give up a concession you will have to be firm with both.

You need to sit down with your original MOH , and explain to her the situation, ask her for a suggestion to your solution. Maybe she will herself suggest she steps down to keep the peace, especially if Julian and her are not fond of each other right now. She is doing this for you because she loves you as a friend, but maybe considering her feelings towards Julian, she feels uncomfortable in the situation but is doing it to see you happy as well. If she herself offers to step down,..then you could offer her the godmother role.

what makes anybody think she'll be allowed to choose the Godmother of her baby if she's not allowed to choose her own maid of honor?

Her sister has already ruined this wedding ceremony. Did somebody think it was an accident she wasnt even a bridesmaid to start with?

If sis is a bridesmaid the bride will be unhappy.

The only possible thing that could now turn this into the happiest day of her life (which it is supposed to be).

would be for the Groom to step up and say, "If Melissa doesn't want her sister in

the wedding party, then she's not going to be in the wedding party".

that might

even earn him the grudging respect of Melissa friends.

If he's not going to stand up for her now, When will he?

if he does it, Mom and Rachael will be unhappy but Melissa will have the satisfaction

of knowing she is marrying a man that wants to protect her and has the cajones to do it.

I suggest you modify your tone with people. There was no need to enlarge font to get your point across. I can read, am quite intelligent, and can see what point you are trying to make without you finding it necessary to increase your font to a a size a legally blind person could read.

And whilst I agree that maybe he should stand up for her in some regards, she is also a grown a$$ woman who should also have the cajones to stand up to her own family, if what they suggest is not what she wants.

(F) If you'll notice there were two separate parts to that post, the first part in relatively normal font was in response to your suggestion.

The big font was "aimed" at a very specific person and it was Julian, who contrary to you're previous assertion is here to defend himself. He posts as Julian/melisa I believe, and has already posted on this thread. Until a few weeks ago I was a forum virgin

so please be gentle with me.

I understand how you would percieve it as being aimed at you, but it wasn't.

If he had remained neutral on the subject that would be one thing but he is standing against her

I have a confession to make. shhhhhhh!!

I recently browsed through "Men are from Mars/ women venus.

As a self respecting man, I could not read the whole book.

However Julian is doing just what it says a guy shouldnt do.

Instead of accepting and aknowledging that she has good reason to hate her sister, he is quietly explaining why she is wrong.

If you ever tell anyone I looked at that book, I will deny it.

She has frankly admitted that she is not able to stand up to her mother and feels overshadowed by her sister.

So it is reasonable for her to hope for a man that would stand up for her. that would be a good complement to her less assertive personality.

Some women are very assertive and don't need the man to stand up for them, She is not one of those women

I think she has done an excellent job of expressing her desires

Now the ball is in Julian's court, That's not one of those double nintedo thingamajigs.

howeve since the subject came up, If she has cajones then Julian deserves everything he gets

respectfully Yours

Dan

How can he possibly have overslept? I was so excited the night before I moved here I hardly slept at all.

He should definitely get the benefit of a reasonable doubt

- just like Cat Ballou gave "Kid Shelleen"

offtopic45vn.gif - "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence"

- for my money the BEST western ever made;

Cat Ballou was the best western parody and

Lee Marvin was in both of them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TljIfAjx-eI&feature=related

Yakima Canutt did the stunts in Cat Ballou.

Wait until the interview is over to see the film clip of his signature stunt.

This is a weird thread. I don't know anything about these two, but it sure seems like a lot of airing of dirty laundry to me.

AW'ing, even.
