It's fun to do lot of self satisfying mathematical games since we have a lot of waiting time and rather than getting idle it's certainly nice

However DOS is almost 90% accurate in their estimates. There are limited number of visas available plus last six months tremendous number of petitions came in. Though the Visa Office and Oppenheimer had assessed that the visas will be current for F2A

Lot of petitioners did not apply before due to the rumor and reality that it takes 4 to 5 years, they simply didn't do any hassle . So the fast movement prompted lot of them to apply. 2nd thing there are a significant number of people who are eligible to apply for naturalization , they are not doing that to save money and time

How do you know that DOS is almost 90% accurate? Do you believe that DOS are actually published 114200 visa every year for only F2A category?

Please read this para from DOS website, how DOS VISA system works:

If there are sufficient numbers in a particular category to satisfy all reported documentarily

qualified demand, the category is considered "Current". For example: If the monthly allocation

target is 3,000 and we only have demand for 1,000 applicants the category can be "Current”.

Whenever the total of documentarily qualified applicants in a category exceeds the supply of

numbers available for allotment for the particular month, the category is considered to be

"oversubscribed" and a visa availability cut-off date is established. The cut-off date is the

priority date of the first documentarily qualified applicant who could not be accommodated for a

visa number. For example: If the monthly target is 3,000 and we have demand for 8,000

applicants, then we would need to establish a cut-off date so that only 3,000 numbers would be

allocated. In this case, the cut-off would be the priority date of the 3,001st applicant.

http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/Immigrant%20Visa%20Control%20System_operation%20of.pdf

So, it was in December Visa bulletin last visa number was August, 2010 according to DOS math system, They didn't processed my application which PD Mar, 2008. Now in January 2011, it says last number was Jan, 2008.

Please tell me Am i wrong or correct??

This is my observation on why there was a sudden leap and then retrogression on most family based petitions.

Most of the petitions was stuck in USCIS, waiting for approval.

Take note that I-130 filed in 2007 was approved only by 3rd or 4th quarter of 2009.

With this, there was a minimal no. of approved I-130 in NVC.

This makes the NVC advance all of the priority dates due to lack of I-130 in their hand.

Due to rapid advance of priority dates on most family based petitions, USCIS needs to approved all of the petitions waiting for approval in their office.

This makes a sudden burst of approved I-130 petitions being sent by USCIS offices to NVC.

With too many cases now in NVC, they need to retrogress all of the petition.

Take note that NVC doesn't have any idea on how many cases are pending for approval in USCIS until they received the respective cases.

As for the visa fee, I think that we are not protected by any fee increase in the future.

If they decide to increase the visa fee, we need to pay the additional fee increase.

Good luck to all and we should hope that the PD will be current soon.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

According to your guessing power, if some one from PD 2007 will be last person visa allocated, So PD go back another year retrogressed I mean 2007?? or Could be chance to 2006 or beyond.

I just dont agree with DOS visa policy.

This is rediculous.....:bonk:

Also note that, Since USCIS didnt approve enough I-130 for F2A category...What happened all those visa for 2007/2008/2009 ??, It means that DOS is not following their Visa policy. All these years Visa get wasted. Its not only hurted immigration people, it hurted America's economy too. :bonk: :bonk:

Please see this nice statistics

Waiting list of petitions until Nov 2010

FAMILY SECOND TOTAL 2009 2010 Change (%)

842,762 913,611 + 70,849 (+8.4%)

2A-Spouses/Children: 324,864 361,038 + 36,174 (+11.1%)

2B- Adult Sons/Daughters: 517,898 552,573 + 34,675 (+6.7%)

Please check this visa statistics

http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/MultiYearTableII.pdf

for example in 2009 number of Visas given in F2a was 29,588 (All ) + 24,687 (Limited) , this is the highest number in the last 20 years , but number of applicants waiting for the Visa 20 2009 is 324,864 , so my dear friends, we will have a long wait as predicted , it will be around 2-3 years for most of us.

Wait , wait and wait

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and God Bless America !

Guys,

I Have a question.

My wife and Daughter had their interview on December first week. CO put our case on Administrative Review (AR).

we are in F2A category and PD is May 2008.

My question is, if our AR completed without any issues, whether embassy will issue visas for my wife and daughter? or they will wait till our PD get current?

Thanks in Advance.

if they are under AR until january 2011 then the january bulletin would apply to you and a visa would not be available for your case as they are giving visas to cases filed on/before JANUARY 1, 2008

Yes RICARDO, you're correct. Visa has to be issued before or on Dec, 31 2010.

Quraish,

Now I am guessing why they put you on AR, because of Consulate have early notified from DOS that NO VISA ISSUE, according to AILA( American Immigration Law Association). Read the following article, actually what happened to those cases which will not be issue visa if the current month visa bulletin not favored.

Hi guys, i am new here.

My pd date is Feb 2010, and i plan to send I864 tomorrow (Wed,29-2010)by express mail.Is it too late for them to review it because i know my pd date will not be current after DEC 31?

You can send I864 and there is no late for you. I think this an early like others to complete your case at NVC.

YOU HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER 3-4 YEARS TO BECOME VISA NUMBER CURRENT OR BECOME US CITIZEN WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.
