Hi everyone,

I am in a long distance relationship with the most wonderful girl in the world, only problem the border....

We are looking at every options to be together and right now it seems like the most sure and fast way, to get me there and working, would be to get maried and fill for a K3 visa. I just have a couple questions about the procedure:

1: The time before the visa get approved (I saw people talking about 1 years or just a couple week for a canadian)

2: I am eligible for TN status too (haven't found a job so far sadly) and I am worried that if I get a TN status job while applying for K3 it would just screw both my TN status and my K3

3: I of course need a job and I am wondering wich option would be fastest for me to be in the U.S and working K3 or K1

Right now I just want to be with my love as fast as possible

Thanks in advance and I am sorry for my english not my first language and I am kinda freaking out about all this right now

Maxmax,

1) K-1 fiancee visas are currently taking about 8 months to process, Cr-1 spousal visas are taking roughly 1 year.

2) Not sure, I personally would just start the Cr-1 asap.

3) Cr-1 would be the fastest to employment as the K-1 is a few steps.

Calm down relax and use the guides when needed :)

Also know that if you have to use the Montreal Consulate, the wait times are for-friggin-ever. I've seen folks on here that have had to wait almoist 4 months just for the interview. Good luck!

I know your freeking out, but you need to try to slow down to decide what it the best way you can do things. You should really read the GUIDES at the top of this page on the blue bar. The more knowlege you have the better. Assuming she is the US citizen, she will need to make a certain amount of money in the previous years or at least be able to prove that you will make a certain amount of money in the future years. A rough estimate would be approximately 18,200 a year depending how many people she supports in her household. You'll have to research the US poverty guidelines for each specific year. If your not married the K-1 Visa is the quickest; approximately 6 months or more. If your married CR-1 which is approximately 1 year or much longer. There's no way to tell you exactly how much time they will take, these are just estimations and it also depends where you are from. Also the K-3 visa is dead and is something you cannot apply for. It's immpossible for us to tell you if you qualify or not, there are a lot of requirements. The best thing you can do is Research, Research and more Research. Good luck.

P.S. For K-1 visa you must have visited each other within the last two years.

Montreal is the only consul that does spousal visas (CR-1) they also do K-1, BUT vancouver does K-1 as well and seem to have a bit faster processing time for interviews on the k-1. But it also depends on which consul you are closest too for the K-1s.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

thanks for all the reply,

Starting to calm down a little

after much reasearch we are looking right now at the CR-1 way, since I also want to be working there as fast as possible.

I will use Montreal consulate....sadly....

Still have a small question, I am currently trying to find a job in Chicago in biology so I could use the TN status to move there ASAP. Would it cause a problem if we get engaged during and then I find a job?

And I hope to add one of those timeline to my signature soon
