My parent entered the USA on November 22, 2010 through JFK airport, but they haven't recieve Social security card that I request on DS230, or Welcome letter yet! I just called Social Security administrative they didn't see my parent name on the system either. also I called USCIS they said they couldn't look anything up. I though only take couple weeks to get those. but now 3 weeks nothing has been recieve. who else can I contact to verify if they have my parent correct address?

sawasdee ka!

i wouldn't panic yet, remember your parents entered on a holiday week i would imagine that they are running a bit behind and taking the day off after thanksgiving is so common here. i would say maybe in a weeks time if you do not have anything then you should make an infopass appointment.

good luck!

I'm sorry it has not arrived. Did you fill out the form correctly.? I made one mistake in that area because inorder to receive it .. you have to select all 3 boxes.

IF i were you I would take them to the nearest Social Security Office and Apply for one if you dont get it when January 1st rolls around Since they are not even in the system as pending or having applied.... the agents at the SS office will be able to tell you if a request for a SSN was submitted to BALTIMORE, MD who generates the Numbers.

I would not worry The SSn came very quick for us but that was just insane luck, Our welcome letters came around the 4th week mark. They do say anywhere between 4-8 weeks So I wouldnt worry just yet, however a trip down to the SSN in a another week or so might be needed

Mine took little over 5 weeks to get to me. And as previously mentioned.. we had thanksgiving in between that, so I would say dont panic for another 4 weeks or so..

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Make sure their name is inside your mail box. Go to SS office. Take passports, birth certs to the office. If that doesnt do it make an Info Pass appt.

Is that one sentence? The OP wants to know why they havent recieved the card.

It is possible USCIS hasnt sent the info required to SS. If they dont SS wont issue the card.

In my daughters case USCIS hadnt sent the notification to SS. I went to the SS office. They advised me they had no info from USCIS. I made Info Pass appt. They told me to return to SS within two weeks. I did so & had to request the card in person.

In my own case I also had to go to the SS office to request the card even though I had requested the card thru USCIS. It took an additional 3 weeks to get the card.

The OP can see by my example & explanation that USCIS doesnt always get it right & these SS cards dont always get sent as expected. There have been many simlar situations reported here on V J.

Haha u got jokes on me? I hope not.

As stated prior going to uscis willl not help ok. Once the case leaves USCIS they have no involvement with the applicant so become familiar with the coherent government bodies under one roof. The LPR can go to the SS office to show the arrival status stamped in the possports. Uscis doesn't process applications for SSN.

To the OP the information was delivered here you can make the decision that best fit you.

So it seems that USCIS does have everything to do with the reason SS couldnt & wouldnt issue the card. Its not a joke; its a fact. This wouldnt have turned out this well if the OP hadnt gone back to USCIS.
