Expedite AP ...

Hi, I called the USCIS last week after 1 month of submitting my AOS and not getting the biometrics call and no news about AP aur EAD ..... I requested them to expedite the process for my AP as I might need to go back home anytime (dec or jan) due to some family urgency ...... The lady whom I spoke with told me that they will contact me within 5 business days for the expedition of AP ..... Following is the email I received from them yesterday: Do you've any idea what it is and how much more time will they take now .... and what do they mean by YOU'LL BE CONTACTED SHORTLY !!

They will either ask you for evidence soon or deny your expedite request. We also tried to get AP expedited but were told that it is usually denied except for family emergencies. We got the same email then the next day an email that expedite had been denied. If they think there is a chance you will get the expedite, they will ask for evidence of whatever hardship you are claiming. For us, international tickets already booked wasn't enough of a hardship (I argued abut change fees and fare increases). Good luck to you. Hope yours gets approved.

Its basically a letter telling you that you called them and requested and expedite and that they are looking into it. Also that they will notify you as soon as they deside.

I've only ever heard of people getting an expedited AP due to an immediate family emergency (ie, an immediate family member dies). Most of these emergencies aren't planned ahead.
