This might sound funny, but get a ferret. Mice are scared to death of this creature, once one of my hubby's uncles use it to get rid of mice problem in his farm. It really works and they won't come back for years !!

Really... and just let it run free in trailer? Maybe I could 'borrow' one...

Or you could get a lawyer, isn't a weasel kind of like a ferret? LOL

Yes, just let it run free (at least that's what my hubby said... :P ) The ferret might not kill any mice while he is "in action" (he will run around and probaby dig a little) but his smell will scare them away.

Hmmm... challenge might be keeping it from escaping and scaring the horses, kids, parents... I'll think about it!

Jen, I've been camping for years. There can't possibly be THAT many openings in your trailer that you can't plug 'em. It takes a bit of time but you can find them all. The steel wool thingy really does work.

It's really better to keep them from getting in rather than trying to kill them after they are already there. They chew things up on their way in - like electrical wires and such. I've known people to have no trailer brakes courtesy of a rodent infestation.

You need to look from the inside out. In cupboards, under sinks, stuff like that. Anywhere the manufacturer cut an opening for a pipe or wires.

I can't see the ferret thing working well at all, especially if you aren't located close enough to check on it daily. You'd have to provide food and water for the ferret so that *it* doesnt die and start decomposing in the trailer as well (Also, depending where you're located, the heat could kill it, I'd bet) And if you bring in food and water for it, the mice will continue to come in attempts to steal its food and water. Also, ferrets can be incredibly stinky if you don't change their litter and stuff fairly often (If they're kept in a home cage and stuff and well taken care of this can be avoided, but I don't see that happening in a trailer miles away from home). The smell of a decomposing mouse might be preferable to ferret urine and poo.

Definately plug up any holes you can find. Even if you don't find all of them it might make a significant difference at least.
