Mice in my camper/trailer

I have a trailer that can haul 4 horses and it also has a section for human living quarters :P

I park it on the farm where we board our horses which means that the mice have easy access. I found evidence of them in my tack area, in my silverware drawer, in the cupboard under the bathroom sink, and in one of the clothes storage cupboards.

I bought mouse traps but if I catch some and they remain there (I don't check every day.... 20 miles away), the camper will smell. If I feed them poison, they will crawl away and die where I can't see them and smell until they decompose completely.

Someone suggested that spreading dryer sheets will keep them moving along (they don't like the smell??)... does anyone have any other remedies???

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I'm not afraid of them... they just don't belong in my camper. Don't care to kill them either, but ???????

Don't worry the fire won't kill them. They're smart, the will scamper outta there. When you're done, there won't be a trailer left so logically your trailer won't have any mice either.

Mr. gupta is very wise, you should listen to him.

(yeah right!!!) :P

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

If you can figure out where they're getting in, stuff said holes with steel wool. They can't (or won't) chew through it.

If you're not sure if they're all out of there, borrow a friend's cat and let it loose in there for a day or so. No more mice. :D

Too many places they can be getting in... sealing won't help.

Setting it aflame may solve my mouse problem but the secondary problem of transporting my horses will be back again....

And before anyone suggest it, getting rid of the horses is not an option. Daughter has her heart set on being on the Olympic Equestrian team one day.... Far be it from me to squash anyone's dream... especially that of an 11-yr old.

Ok - back to the mice....

Thought about those sonic deterrents too, but they need to be plugged in... no power when it's not hooked up...

I always thought if you poisoned them they go in search of water so if no water in the camper maybe they wont die in there. Tuck a few air freshners about, and pray for the best!

get a cat

I have a cat. Next post is going to be about how to get rid of her. :P

She belongs to the kids. I'm not a cat person.
