Hi there, Just received my first letter from Manila US Embassy. I'm the benefactor. It is a one paged letter and it says;

This refers to your fiancee' (k1 visa case)

Your case is eligable for a visa interview. You must pay the K visa application fee before you can schedule a visa appointment....

(2nd paraghraph is how to schedule your interview.....but its not like what I saw in the sample packet 3 which is a 4 - 5 page paper with complete instructions)

Is this the packet 3 or we will receive another letter before we can schedule our interview and medical?

Can we pay our interview fee and schedule our interview now? Can I go to medical now? Is this the packet 3?

Thank you!

Yes, you can pay your visa fees and then schedule your interview. Then once you have the date for your interview, schedule your medical exam close to that date. That is what I understand. I have heard so many different stories about this. I do know that you can not schedule the interview until you have paid the fees. You will need to call the embassy in Manila after you have paid the fess. They will ask you for your reciept number off of your NOA2 and other information, then give you another type of reciept number to schedule the interview. Please check out this information because it is just basic. My fiance and I are currently going through this same process, but we have not recieved notification from the embassy as of yet. Good luck!!

Click on the VisaJourney.com "Home" tab at the top of the page. Scroll on down the page, there will be a list of Users online and below that a box, that says something like "Countries that have topics today", Click on "Philippines" and you will be taken to the location of topics being discussed about processing at the US Embassy Philippines. After your petition has left the National Visa Center (NVC) it is important to follow the people that are processing in your country, because the various Embassy in different countries do not always follow the same processes. The Philippines has just switched over to an online appointment scheduling, so there has been many changes. Check it out.

Best to do your medical as soon as you receive the NOA2 approval notice in case something like a sputum test pops up.

Go to SLEC Tuesday thru Thursday AFTER 12 noon.

thank you all for all the replies...i went to the regional, but there is no clear answer there... Is this the letter to show in paying the interview, do we have to wait for another letter..is this the packet? is there a next mail to come..thank you!

If you have the letter authorizing you to schedule an appointment, that means your petition has been logged into the system. Pay your fee at BPI. You should already have your MNL number from your NOA2.

I would recommend that you try to schedule online at the following link:

Link to online Interview Appointment Scheduling: Scroll down to

K-Visa Appointment Scheduling

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ScheduleanAppointment.html

you will need the following information to schedule online:

Passport Number: hers

Case Type Number: MNL number, format MNLXXXXXXXXXX

Payment Date: date MRV or Application Fee paid

Date of Birth: hers

& a unique password

Have DS-156 first page in front of you most answers to online questions come from there

2GO have them deliver to Fiancee’s address, not to nearest 2Go office

Save the Appointment Confirmation sheet to a place in your computer, the secure PDF requires your unique password to open it up.

Be advised, it appears to me that the scheduling system is set up to NOT take payment dates of the same day as you paid, so you probably will not be able to schedule online until the day after payment. (I know it says 4 hours after payment, but I was getting payment date errors for at least a day after)

If after the second day you still can not schedule online, call the Call Center at (632) 982-5555, to schedule over the phone.

If any of the above information is not correct, Please message me right away. I want to know your experience.

can we really go for medical after receiving noa2 even without the embassy letter?

Link to info about the Medical Examination:

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html

Medical Examination completed before the Interview (2 weeks)

First come, first served, ME is valid for 6 months

Note: They take your passport on day two of the medical examination and you will

receive it back at the interview. This is no problem unless you need it for something

between that time.

Email print out of her Interview Appointment sent by the center, 3 copies

The medical exam fee is U.S. $213.35 for adults

Passport (valid for at least 6 months)

Two colored pictures (2 inches x 2 inches) with a white background

I have heard others say you can get in on the NOA2 also, but we are going to wait for the appointment date, We don't want to give up our passport to soon in case we need it for some reason. There is plenty of time between scheduling the interview and the interview date to get the exam done. Yes, unless you need a sputum culture done, brain surgery or a heart transplant. If you are healthy there should be no worries.

Don't dismiss the two-month TB culture so easily. If St. Lukes notices even the tiniest irregularity on your perfectly-healthy fiancée's lung, you too will be in the same boat as all of the others who are waiting the extra two months...and there are many. That's why it is a good idea to start the medical early.

Don't worry about the passport. Simply make a few copies of the biographical page.
