Hello,

Wondering if your S/O had to transfer college credits from Ghana Universities? How was the process in transferring credits to U.S universities. After adjusting status and getting 2 year green card were they able to apply for financial aid or student loans? Thanks

As someone who studied in Ghana- it is very difficult to transfer credits here- usually schools require you to get additional paperwork and such- but they still might not approve it- Each school will have their own policies- so its hard to say. It depends where he went in ghana and where he is looking for here-

I know that is no help- but it really depends on a lot of factors.

Has he completed college in Ghana?

When my husband came he had already graduated from college (undergrad). He wanted to start his Masters so he had his transcript evaluated (forgot the name of the company). Since he had a degree he was able to get verification that his degree was equivalent to a US 4-year degree so he cold apply to grad school programs. Once he had his greencard he was able to apply for financial aid.

As far as I know the service he used did do a course-by-course evaluation.
