Visitor Visa, While in process of K-1?

Has anyone heard or know if there is anyway possible to get some sort of visitor Visa, while we are waiting for the K-1?

I mean, they have all of our information... I would just like her to visit for 2 weeks, heck, even 1 week, or 1 day...

Just to make sure she will like it here, before she has to move and live here...

Anyone know? This is getting frustrating. We are so anxious. I have visited her 4 times this year, and going again right after Christmas (spending so much money on travel...)

I'm assuming a tourist visa is not any easier...

you´re right, to get a tourist visa she will need to show strong ties with her country, but the K1 petition is running, it would be contradictory

maybe you´ll get your approval soon

My fiancee had a valid tourist visa that was expiring and when she went to the embassy to renew the visa it was denied based on the fact we had a K1 in process. They also stamped her valid visa "Cancelled Without Prejudice". I spoke to my Senators office and they said that most tourist visas are denied when there is a K! in process. At that point they already know there is intent to immigrate. We knew that could happen but had to try anyway. The risk for trying to get the tourist visa is that you lose the money for the tourist visa filing fee and interview.

You may hear something soon Roy but know how you feel and trips get expensive hey. I did 2 trips to US while waiting but we had 2-3 months in between being apart. Be strong and patient you will e together soon. Not sure about Ukraine but I take it they don't come under VWP, Shame then she could come no probs.

If she can show strong ties to her country and good reasons for her to return, then yes she may be approved......but then again, many from Ukraine are denied.

Any filing for this type of visa and either of the decision will not have any affect on your K-1 processing. You may only be out the time and money it takes to file it. Good luck but don't get your hopes up.

Many of us were not able to make so many trips to visit and they were not allowed to visit us and we all survived and are now together. You just have to be strong. Use Skype, a lot, like every day if you can.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Oh trust me, We use Skype every single day for at least 4 hours. We have been talking now for a little over a year. Like I said, I have been there 4 times for 2.5 weeks at a time. We are very much in love! But also very anxious! Not hearing ANYTHING gets discouraging...

I just wish she could come here to visit.

Very similar here...Skype for about 3 hours a day..my fiance lives in Yalta which takes a bit of effort to get to..Like you we probably all hoped to be together for Christmas....they run in spurts...you should be one of the next ones for sure...

So, when you file for the K1, theres no way to just go and visit The States? That sounds kinda crazy!

First, you take the effort to file and pay for it and then you cant go visit your loved one?

I fly back and forth each month for two weeks. Just filed for K1 two weeks ago!

What if my fiance is from Canada and just traveling across the border by car. Would that be a problem during the K-1 process guys? Would she still need proof of ties? We want to look for wedding venues in Seattle
