AS I've written here before my husband and I had our interview last week which seemed to go well, the officer said he would "mail a decision" followed by "congratulations." We took this to mean an approval.

We then receive a letter stating that our AOS is pending because "an additional review of your case is required before a determination of your eligibility" I don't know what this means -- they have not requested any additional information nor have they mentioned waiting FBI checks (the letter had a box to check for delays caused by FBI).

The thing is -- there is a connection to ME (a joint UKC/USC) of a certain family member (who is now 85, and who was misguided and foolish but not dangerous) who was once affiliated with a certain terror organization in the late 50s/early 60s. My cousin, who is in the US Marines, once had problems getting a high-level security clearance (but I believe it was resolved) because of this.

I have consulted with a lawyer and he said it was most likely "security checks" and that if there was a problem, it wouldn't be because of me. Any thoughts?

I have scheduled an Infopass appointment for Monday, but I'm sure it's a waste of time and money.

they do ask and there is a letter re. the usc if they have had any charges or been arrested for anything but a driving offense needs a police report..did this come out in the interview?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
